Yeah it's on the screen when you first power it up. But the 1.31 firmware like I said completely transforms the 750. The setup is as easy as the Beast now and it works very well with the default values (which was not the case with the old firmware). So to just get it in the air safely, you just do the basic setup and that gets you flying.

Nick Maxwell did an excellent vid on the 1.31 FW, which I highly recommend:

Well that's the price we pay for the funner nitro models lol... I actually still have my 2 gallons of CP 15% multivis so I can get by till my next fuel shipment gets here next week.

But the 105 came right out of the plastic bags and fired right up. I'm still using the same check valve and filter even, since they were still fine.

And not to brag but you never saw a stouter drive train than they have in the Whippy. That entire assembly is built like a Sherman Tank. You'd think the heli would weigh a ton with all that metal but it's actually surprisingly light still. But there's no way that drive train could ever come apart, it's like The Terminator or something...

Well.. that really does look like a nice clean design. I love my Whippys, but I can always appreciate any good nitro design. The Whippy is a real screamer due to the sharp spur gears, I can hear them even over the engine. On the electric it sounds like a turbine. But I think Miniature sewed it up with the sprag on the motor setup. That creates one or two problems, but solves like 15 others.

But that Avant machine, that's pretty nice. My compliments.

Well I can unreservedly recommend the Whippy nitro, since so far I love mine. Like I said earlier, the drive train is like nothing else I've ever seen.

It also looks like it's going to be pretty easy to take apart and service. My trex 700N, tho I loved it too, was murder to get the engine in and out, or the clutch bell assembly. But the Whippy looks like just a couple screws and the clutch bell should just slide out the top. And the motor out the bottom. The way they did the fan shroud is the right way to do it lol - just 4 screws and they drop off the sides.

Also, the new kits are coming with a new sprag clutch. It has a sealing washer over the top and isn't the open type deal of the first version. I have that in my electric; it hasn't given any problems, but it's easy to see that contaminates can get in there and possibly make a mess, etc...

I think you'll really like it.

Oh yes the engine is really easy to take out. 6 screws on bottom plate. 6 for engine and 4 on fan shrouds.HeliDirect Field Rep, Synergy N7 w/ OS 105, Torq Servos, Cyclone/ Rail blades

The Avant engine comes out the side.

The clutch bell and bottom plate stays in place.

Take off the fan shroud and the four motor mount bolts and the engine drops down a little and straight out the side.

You can even leave the muffler on if you take it out the left side.

I have both large electrics and nitros. I do prefer nitros for the flight time but one nice thing about the electrics - the pure sound of the blades!

You cant really hear the light saber sound from the blades from a nitro heli just because theres an engine sound all the time. Hear someone fly a 7HV or the Goblin IRL next time to appreciate.

Definitely. Something many fail to realize and/or point out.

Yep, I had to order one too. 50 big ones just to do an update. I have 2 CGY's so I used it twice, but still a big chunk of change for a basically single-use item.

I'm hoping in a future version of the CGY they integrate this into the unit itself, with perhaps a mini USB port. The way the Vbar does it, for example.

I prefer the sound of the engine. But not when it's a screaming, underpowered setup.

Actually, running 620's at 2600 RPM, 15 degrees of pitch and hammering the sticks, you hardly hear the 91 over the blades. No joke. Only thing is then the flight time sucks.

The whiplash tank is so big I basically get two flights per tank. The blades are mostly audible, I have the Hatori pipe on my 105 and the intake is actually slightly louder at WOT. Probably due to the velocity stack. But I prefer a nice rich exhaust note myself
