Trex 700E DFC low headspeed?
Is anyone running a low headspeed (1000-1200) (6S-12S) on the stock V3? If so can you share your setups. I would like to try but unfamiliar on how to set it up.

I have been running everything between 1600 rpm and 2200, no problems with wobbels or boom strikes.

But I am using a Jive 120HV and running under 1900 rpm means I need to go below 50% trottel curve. No problem with Jive, no idea if it works fine with Castle.

I just purchased the same 700E DFC V3 and I'm using the Castle Creations Edge 120HV. Were you able to get the low headspeed to work with your Castle ESC?

If so, what are your settings?

I would like to run 1400rpm but not sure if the Castle can do it.

The software will warn you if you set the head speed too low, don't go too low it will heat the ESC up... then the heli.... then the field!

Best way is to get an adjustable motor mount and a 10 or 11T pinion.

Edit: just noticed you said 6-12s, just run the stock setup using 1 6s 5000 pack, that should give you 1100-1200 rpm and 7+ mins flight time!
60% of the time, it works every time!

I'll keep everything stock and will go as low on headspeed as the software will allow.
For kicks, I may just fly with one 6S LiPo in order to get the low headspeed.
I'm assuming this works in a 12S setup.

I am running 1550 and 1650 on my v2 with dfc head and edge blades with castle 120. No problems with esc or batteries heating up and get about 5min flights and putting back 3000mah into my 5000 packs. I could fly longer but I'm still scared of the big heli. (first 700)
But had a buddy who is a realy good 3d piolt hammer on it the other day with my settings and no issues. Esc was cold and batteries a little warm but not hot. Infact he flew for the 5min and I only put back 2250. after his flight. So I say if your looking for flight time 1550 1650 would be good. Ran it once at 1450 and was having issues holding tail with a beastx FBL.

I maidened my 700E DFC this past Saturday. I successfully ran a low headspeed of 1600rpm and the high at 2200rpm. Everything was stock including the Castle Creations 120HV ESC.Frank_C
