Shipping Lipos?
Just talked to the USPO about shipping Lipos and the only way they will ship a lipo is if it is contained in what you are using the lipo in. They will not ship it in a box! Does that mean if you sell a heli and you install the lipo, Its OK to ship?
What are the rest of you doing to ship a lipo that you sell?

Been a while since I shipped just some lipos. But when asked what I was shipping I just said RC Helicopter Parts. I just shipped them with very secure packageing. Tape the wires down, so they dont bump into other wires on other packs. Then bubble wrap each lipo. Then put them in a box with some padding all around them. So they cant get smashed.

They will ship lipos ground service
+1, Just shipped 2 TP's back to Vegas today that have high IR's. I explained to them what a lithium-polymer is and that it is not on the usps battery page on the website. Just tell the it is in "storage mode and grounded" that's it. Only if they ask.

Yup...tape each connector, then bubble wrap and bag each one in a zip-lock [this is what i do anyways]...pack um up real good so that they can't be easily crushed in the box.

Sometimes you have to share the USPS guidelines with the USPS personnel. This has always worked for me.

"Is there anything fragile, liquid, parishable, or potential hazordous?"

This is the question I get everytime I ship something through USPS.
I normally charge the lipo to storage charge around 50%. Never had any problems.
It's a complex, costly, glow powered anti-gravity machine!
