looks to me like an attempt to compete with an align 700E or an X7? I'd like to see how these take off on sales!

I think people can quit saying Thunder Tiger is behind the times. The original Raptors have had a LOOONG production run. TT was obviously not asleep in the meantime!

Nice flying Nick... but why o why are they still using the old plastic tail pitch slider on a new power machine like this from the raptor 30 days... ahh..

Align has them beat on the aluminum dual aluminum pitch slider.

Why does aluminum automatically trump plastic in your mind?

Sacrificial lower frames, structural skids! This is a truely new concept. Plus they are keeping up. Electric is the new norm.Friends don't encourage friends to fly helis! It can cause part shortages.

At the tail you can get everything metal except TT wants the pitch lever plastic. It's different plastic than the 60/90 but it is plastic. You can otherwise create an all metal G4 tail and it will fit the 60/90 as well.

It doesn't. I'll be the first to say bling hardly ever makes your heli fly better.

However, in this case, if TT is coming out, after all this time, with a newly designed "competition 3D machine" I would think it would have newer designed parts. Nothing screams "still old" like that pitch slider or the use of those red belt drive pulleys on the newer raptor. Stuff has gotten better or, well just cooler.

I agree it works, my raptor 50 flew nonstop, but time to update to compete with the newer stuff.

Just my opinion. I'm sure it will fly with the best of them....whatever that brand is.

So, if TT gives you an aluminum part just to be different or "cool" as you put it and that part therefore is less crash resistant or increases the cost of a kit, is that progress?

I respect your point and do also agree. I also don't want to diverge the topic.

The raptor worked. Mine did. 50 and 90. Why not save the R&D and just stick a brushless into the same "old" design. Because it won't sell with the newer stuff out. This is not a 450 but a full out 3D machine. IMO, and that is all it is, parts like that pitch slider should be updated similar to the align one to match the updated design and quality.

I am not a "buy bling" person, unless you plan to fly a 130x, which in that case you pretty much must...

Anyway, I think it distracts from the new updated design. Crash worth or not. Kit price, after having a raptor, not an issue (good prices). New people looking at the raptor when it is already late to the game will be looking at other kits features.

People like me who have owned them remember it as still old and new. I think I have done a poor job trying to explain my point. Back to the topic and happy to see TT back in the game. TT gave many of us the ability to expand and afford our hobby.

Arms will be included. I believe Nick had a 4035 series Scorpion in that model.

It might be that aluminum has a higher strength to weight. Probably not important on a tail slider.
So then it could be it isn't stinking ugly.
