Last time I checked we had psycho paths running into our schools with Guns...
Ryan should have called it a drone. That would have gave the Psycho paths something to shoot at other then our kids... Save children's lives.

Win Win for all.

You people are nuts. Lets make more laws, Bitch more and make RC helis NO FUN AT ALL.
Kenneth.... Fly Safe!

When you or I put others in a potential dangerous situation, especially when the ones at risk may not know all the variables, should not the best safety measures be implemented? Take the extra steps to ensure the highest possible safe outcome. Many never think of the worst outcome, but when it is possible to do more, should we not try or just say, that will do it will be ok. Just imagine for a moment how bad it would be if that heli or any for that matter were to come in contact with those children. I hope nothing like that ever happens. So as a fellow caring human do your all to look out for others as I hope they do likewise and look out for you. Nobody ever put down his ability to fly. We are only saying to go above and beyond for the sake of others well being. Its all earth!

OK there mister OCD...What kind of fences and nets do you use?

What kind of fences and nets are used at fun flys and events like the IRCHA Jamboree?

There are children at all these events and usually way more than one heli in the air.
And the people flying THOSE helis don't always even know how to fly them.
And you have no idea which heli to watch.

Get over it man...This situation was handled properly and was one of the more positive and safest videos I have seen on this site.
I literally never use the word literally right.

Yeah, let's put each kid in one of these while you're at it.

Check this video. This is how all events should be. You see it at other dangerous events. Glad to see there now starting with heli events.
One thing, People going to a heli event know the danger. The school Mom and Pop do not, well not all of them, so they are unaware of said danger. My point all along is just give some added buffer between the kids and heli such as a fence. Hmmm Hamster Ball??

Heavy on the O

Actually...There seems to be some compulsion as well

Again OCD...What kind of fence do you use and did those kids on the bikes in YOUR video know the dangers? Did you contact THEIR parents?

They probally were unsupervised.it was long ago, when I felt as you do do. I soon saw the error in my ways and now never fly around others without there consent, also they must stand behind the backstop or fence, something to take cover behind. We are all guilty of dangerous flying at some time. I hope most quickly understand as I did that putting someone elses well being in jeopardy can not be tolerated.
I now dont even want a single person in site when I fly. I know you are probally very safe when you fly, But if there is a bit more that can be done, should not we try for them. I still cant imagin that young 18mo baby girl getting hit. Why not be a little OCD for those that come to watch our awesome machines. Take care McKrackin.

HeliOCD,, I have often thought about that poor boy that stood and watched his father bleed to death from getting hit in the throat by spinning heli blades, and the poor guy that was flying that heli, it must have been horrifying for all that was there,

and the things I have seen and heard about at my club's field, it all proves it is a dangerous hobby

WOW!!! I'm Impressed!!! What I wouldn't have given to be able to fly a 700 Like that or even had ACCESS to one when I was that age! What a great vid and what a great father to work with his son to accomplish something so VERY difficult to accomplish! Especially at that age. KUDOS! That was purely awesome!!!Ban the Ban.

Life is dangerous.

Were you aware that swallowing small amounts of spit on a daily basis will eventually cause you to die. It has happened, or will happen, to everyone who practices this habit.

Anyone who has ever eaten a carrot will die. This is not conjecture, there is no "what if" involved. It is a cold, hard fact. We should ban carrots from the supermarket shelves. And please, don't feed them to your kids.

Those of you who decry the callous act of a five minute helicopter demonstration will undoubtedly put your lives at far greater risk tomorrow morning as you get behind the wheel and drive your car to work. And many of you will actually endanger your own kids by putting them in the car with you. But you never give that a second thought, do you?

This whole thread has pretty much been based on "what if". Lots of conjecture, lots of people running around like Chicken Little, and in a weird sort of fashion, all of those people will sooner or later, go out and fire up their favorite helicopter and go fly it. When you do, make sure all around you know just how much their lives are being put at risk by you and your machine.

I have read all of the threads on here and my conclusion is that some of you guys should not be in this hobby. You know who you are. If you guys that are screaming about how unsafe that demo was you should get your heads out of the sand. I can't see one thing wrong in that video that was unsafe. Dave hit the nail on the head. Every thing was done to specs and I have given a few demos at grade schools my self and here are my rules giving a demo. First your equipment can not be questionable. You can not take a questionable air frame up if it is not in tip top shape. Second you have to have confidence in your flying ability, by that I mean if you are not confident in your flying ability you should not be demoing for any one, and from the sounds of some of you on here you don't have the CONFIDENCE to do what that young man did, that is why you think that it is dangerous.trex 700fbl cal30,minititan,, trx600fbl,trex250,logo 500,Velocity N2
