Hey guys so I was flying my logo 600 today. It was 80° outside. I was smacking it around. As soon as half of my flight came the esc was slowly losing HS once I landed I tried to re spool up but it didn't I had to re initialize the esc then it came back to life. It was really hot and usually does not get that hot.. I thought I went to LVC but my packs were at 54%. It their anyway to keep the ESC cooler? Is a 80 to small?

I run a 12s 600 with 620 blades on a 450 kv motor. when I looked it wasn't really possible to gear anything over a 500kv for 12s but you have a 560kv. My guess is its overgeared but what is your gearing and headspeed?

Edit**** searching now there seems to be plenty of options for that kv range of motor. (mod .7)

hrm...i guess we need to know the setup. with a 560kv i assumed he was running a 10s setup.

a logger might speak volumes. you might have some binding somewhere that would show up as large amp draws. but, definitely need to know your setup now.

if it ain't broke, break it.

12s. I am running a 12 tooth pinion at 2100 HS.

HI Gabe,
To be on the safe side, I would go to a larger ESC.

the jive is practically famous for being able to run very well inefficiently. but, i think 2100 RPM on that setup might even be pushing it for the jive.

12s 12t 560kv with the 600's gearing yields optimal headspeeds in the 2400-2500RPMs, which is WAY too high for that airframe.

i'd try dropping down to a 10t pinion, then that 80amp esc should be back in spec for 2100RPM.

if it ain't broke, break it.

if its mod 1 then its way overgeared. I would think a 10 tooth would eat more gears (He ate one already if this is the bird that was for sale)

You can replace the motor or speed control or both. The pinion might work but I would be scared of a 10T if you are really beating it. You can try 10s to get the gearing optimal but that will only drive up the amps for that 80.

a 450kv motor and a 120 amp esc is the optimal setup for 12s and should fly trouble free.

The jive at 70% or more and the Xera 4030/ Scorpion 4025 under 2100 rpm is the place to be beating on one of those all year round.

xera 4030 = scorpion 4025

guessing youre not mod 0.7 because the math doesn't "jive" to even get to 2100rpm (knee slapper)

fwiw my upper limit with the scorpion 4025-740 on 10s with that esc is around 2300rpm with 153:13 mod 0.7

560 x 44.4 / 2300 = 10.8:1, or 10t with mod 1 (10.6:1)

Run a heatsink, theres plenty of power there but the low % thing about the Jives is intended for low demand, like f3c hovering or low rpm 3d, not for 2100rpm

I am going 10s. This setup was better for 10s anyways. I am running 45% for 2100 on 12s.Thats why it was getting really hot. What throttle curve are you guys running for a 560 kv motor and a 12 tooth pinion with the Jive 80?
