Does anyone know if I swap my CF tail boom for an aluminum one, do I need to coat the wires that run inside the boom? They look bare to me and thought maybe they would short out the motor. Thanks

The stock wires have a coating already.

You are good to go as long as the coating is still on the wires.

I don't understand why you would want to use an Al boom on a mcpx rather than just a solid CF boom which is stronger/lighter???

Agreed. BTW, I'm still using then stock frame and the boom mount has always been a very weak point on the frame. I added the Asteroid Designs tail boom supports and that has really help add some rigidity to the tail.
