I am having an intermittent issue with a Microbeast. It is on a Trex 700N Helibug gasser conversion with an AR7100R receiver. I bought this setup used, so I have no idea of its full history. The MB is currently running V2 software which I can tell from the lights at boot-up. I have been through the entire setup and am pretty experienced with BeastX. Here are the symptoms. I power on the system and the swash is nice and level. I move the cyclic stick full range and watch the swash slowly return to center. The swash is still nice and level. Now I take off and fly around. On some flights, I notice that the heli starts to fly forward on its own so I land and shut down the engine. Now, you can see a definite forward tilt to the swash. I wiggle the stick and everything moves normally but the swash returns to the forward tilted position and not the level position. If I power down the electronics and turn it back on, the swash is flat again. It appears that the MB gets a new input for where it thinks level is during the flight. I flew several times today and this does not happen every time but when it happens it is very noticeable. So my questions are:
Is this issue internal to the MB?
Is this a hardware issue or would it be fixed by upgrading to V3 software?
Could it be an EMI problem from the ignition spark?
I’ve read about vibration issues and maybe vibration is moving the apparent level point but once moved, it always goes to this tilted position even after the engine is shut down and there are no vibrations. So it does not seem like vibrations are causing an issue with the feedback loop but something is changing the stored level point.
