Joined a club this weekend, 17 miles from home, like it a lot. It's mostly planks with about 6 heli dabblers. Anyway, watching the plankers fly their foamy electric stuff does not catch my attention at all, but when someone fires up a two stroke nitro plank, that is cool to me. I guess the sound to me is a big part of this hobby that I enjoy wether I am watching someone else fly a plank or heli, or I am flying it myself.

I hated Star Trek as a kid and still today, it seemed as if you could turn on the tv at any time and it would be on one channel or another.
I was about 6 years old when Star Wars came out, that's where my sci fi nerdy heart is. Loved everything about that saga until that POS jar-jar binks character came along. They should of had Darth Maul live and cut JJB in half.

Still a Star Trek fan though...I loved the tolerance that was always written in the stories and the fact that they cast characters of all races.

That is exactly what I have never been able to put my finger on.

I had my uncle ask what kind of fuel my Trex 600 ran on and when I said it was battery powered,you could see the interest just flush out of his eyes.

The benefits from E power are only seen by the guys flying them...To everyone else...Toys...Batteries not included.lol...

I love the realness of nitro engines.

Nah... it's so they can get the heck out before someone sees them.

happens all the time when I mention my 500. Thank God I have a 600N so I could redeem myself a lil.

aside from those that fly them EVERYBODY else sees them as a TOY

Hehe, that's funny.

I have to tell you, when I saw the video of Tareq flying the Infusion reasonably hard for almost 7 minutes....

I hate having to babysit batteries while they charge. I don't hate the actual babysitting itself as much as the inconvenience, as most times I just sit and enjoy a book while they charge. But of course, time wise, this is not the most convenient thing to have to do when a chance outing is not often and limited in time.

Being able to take just out a bottle of fuel and fly back to back 7 minute flights seems very enticing indeed.

Yeah, you do see him use the LVC quite often in his videos.

Honestly, I'm a little concerned about LiPos. They are working great for me on the 450, but on the X5, my packs have just suddenly fallen off the cliff, with barely 30 flights on them. Perhaps it's just that 550 class helis are a little too big for 6 cells. and the cheap HK batteries obviously don't help that.

I would love to try some of the Gens Ace, but being in Aus I cannot get any shipped.

The nitro Infusion in Tareq's video is moving more than my X5 is at the moment.

I hear your pain.
IMO anything over a 500 size and the batteries start getting expensive for me anyway.

for what ever reason it seems lipo's are discontinued research.

I doubt Tareq worries about the 80% rule either, at least I wouldn't if I was him.

Two 3300mAh packs for my 12S Trex 600EFL PRO cost $130.00 and thats only a few bucks more than a case of WildCat 30% performance for my Trex 600N..
If a few bucks more ($4.00 whole dollar difference) is too expensive,you'll never beable to afford a 50 size electric or nitro..
The packs for my 600EFL PRO cost $65.00 each ($130.00 total) and I get 6 min flight times and 500 cycles...
I love both but some in this thread clearly don't know how to setup a electric for power/flight time and seem to have it stuck in their head that ya need top dollar lipos..

BTW,
I got 6:30 mins max with my 600N and get 5:30 with my 600E but also running 2350RPM..Flight time is the EXACT same if I ran 2200RPM with my 600E so theres no difference at all other than my 600E still has WAY more power from start to finish and its WAY cheaper to fly over nitro..
Thats not a dig or bash at all because I honestly miss flying nitros and I plan on getting the new DFC 600N by mid summer,I hope..
