Any of the name brand current version govs work fine. You're going to get a bunch of personal preferences. Pick one and go with it. I have Throttle Jockey Pro and others. I would say Throttle Jockey is probably one series of units to pass on these days. The early Align unit is in the same boat. There are much user friendly devices out there these days.

GV1
I use the futaba governor and mount where I can easily read it. You can stir the sticks and see the voltage along with a readout of highest rpm.

I would define which you want, a governor or a rev limiter. A governor generally tries to keep the head speed at a constant no matter what and a rev limiter will ensure your head speed never goes above the "limit" you set and that's it's only function. There are pro's and cons to both.

I prefer a governor and in that I prefer the GY701 governor.

Lately, I've gone to the Multi-gov Pro and use them on all my nitro birds. The setup and programing with the box is great. I tried Throttle Jockey with mixed results, and never liked the Align units at all.

I was looking at the multi gov, looks good. From all accounts the csm is available in Europe haha not the states. There are only a few gov's the stator gator works with...for gassers but that is another thread. May try the multi gov.

For gassers, I've used the Stator Gator with a GV-1 and it seemed to work fine.

GV-1 no longer available, 701 took its place. I have two gassers in need of a gov and that is the one I will get. Just on classified and did not see any gv1 for sale. Price for 701 is not too bad. What throttle servo you using with gv1?

GV-1s come up for sale here from time to time. I just used a normal torque servo, nothing super fast or high torque.

GV-1's are fine. You can pick them up used for a song here on-forum.
GY701 is a great governor and/or gyro.

What about ATG?

Had a weird issue with the MGP a while back...When I went from ST1 to ST2 it would drop all the way to an idle for two seconds and then ramp back up to speed really fast....Was really hard to control when it did that...Two second auto followed by an instant wide open throttle.

I literally never use the word literally right.

So far I've had the TJ, TJpro, GV-1, ATGv3, MultiGov and 2 Spektrum recievers with built in gov. I like the MultiGov the best by far, followed by the Spektrum because I like the cleanliness of the setup. I liked the GV-1 the least but that also had a little to do with the GY611 also. Had them in the same heli and they were just so big for no reason, even in a 90. The TJ was my favorite until the Multigov. The interface is great, makes it super easy to set up and then you don't have to wory about it. Electronics you can forget about are the best.

Hmmm? The MGP is the one I'd recommend also. In fact I have one with a control panel I'm not using anymore in case you want to try again. It worked quite well for me.
