Master Sergeant C.J. Grisham, prominent military blogger and founder of A Soldier’s Perspective, is currently embroiled in a battle to defend his second amendment rights. On March 16, 2013, C.J. was arrested in his hometown of Temple, Texas, for “rudely displaying” a hunting rifle while on a hike with his 15-year-old son. C.J., who is stationed at nearby Fort Hood, holds a permit for the weapon he was openly carrying that day, which is legal in the right-to-carry state of Texas as long as it does not cause alarm. Since the story broke, many Americans have been stunned by the video footage of the arrest, which was filmed by both C.J. and his son.

In order to defend his second amendment rights, C.J. launched an online fundraiser in late March 2013, which has already amassed more than $31,000 in donations. “No one should have to fear being illegally disarmed without warrant, especially someone who has never committed a crime in his life,” C.J. writes. “There is an overt attempt to disarm Americans, and especially veterans, in this country.” If you would like to help C.J. fight for his rights, you can make a donation here. http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/2nd…

Act like a jerk, get treated like a jerk. He was a jerk in the whole video, even with his little threat to the officers when they could not hear him. Just another gun owner making things worse for the rest of us.

It comes to me as no surprise you would take it that way. I for one am embarrassed by my States LEO's acting this way. The first officer was WRONG, so instead of the other officers correcting it, they backed him up. I have good freinds that are LEO's and they are FURIOUS over how the policemen acted.

I hope they all loose their jobs...they should. But of course they will not. Power doesn't always corrupt, but when it does, it is really a shame. I have always supported LEO's, but I must admit that support is wavering of late.

The CITIZEN did nothing wrong. MOF, he did EVERYTHING right. If you can't see this, you shouldn't live here, because apparantly you believe in a police state.

My generation? You must be in your 80's then if you think we are from two different generations.

As for the video, I would really like to know what happened before the video started rolling. The guy was acting like a jerk the whole time, I would bet he was a jerk from the start. And to make a threat to the cops while they weren't listening shows exactly how much of a tough gut he is. The police have a duty to respond to a call, if he would have been polite I bet it would have never got to where it is. But there are tons of videos where guys act like idiots when they are confronted by police officers.

As for him being active military, that is one fat active person. More like not active.

Hard too believe it
Their was actually a time we racked our rifles in the rear window's of our pickup's - left the windows rolled down and the trucks un locked.

REMEMBER THOSE DAYS ????

Nothing more than witnessing mis managed intelligence --

OBAMA brought this on by selling a FALSE perception of Security and piles of shady backroom deals - a Child of Darkness

The Public Bought into what was advertized then sold - NO WARRANTY

We now see the result -----

If you try to find any of the Original Administration and their change outs -ALL you can see are tail light's and DUST !!!!

Even one the architects of the OBAMA HEALTH CARE PLAN - Mad MAX Bauchus -a Democrat has called it a train wreck and bailed !

Right down the street with BAG's of Tax Payer Money

Guys, it is not just about rights and law. The most important parts of this confrontation are missing from this video.

If someone shows up in my store with a gun on his side, it is no big deal. If he shows up with gun in his hand he can be shot dead without hesitation and no one will say boo about it. He has a right to have and carry, but he also has an obligation to be reasonable about it.

Someone in the area called the cops on the guy. The cops have an obligation to check it out, find out what he is up to and verify he is mentally stable. If he shows signs of being belligerent or unstable they can't let him go. The guy has rights, but he also has an obligation to be civil and reasonable. I don't see the civil and reasonable behavior here, I see a redneck activist version of Al Sharpton.

You are correct here. You will have to read his side of the story to understand what happened. Look it up. He was on the back roads in a Texas town, not downtown NY!

I use to spend my summers with my Grandmother in Peyote Texas. Nearest neighbor was a mile away. I walked with a .22 all of the time...to the post office, to the local gas station, etc. Never questioned once about it. Time were different I understand, but the laws were not.

I will admit that I wouldn't have been carrying a M4 at the postion he was. Especially in the anti-gun climate we are in now. I would have carried it at sling arms. Then again, I probably would have had a 30-30 or my 870 with me instead. Regardless, it doesn't matter. He did nothing wrong. True, there are time lines we did not see. But the main LEO here was WRONG.

As for those that question his weight, get a freak'n life, especially if you haven't served. His WEIGHT has absolutely NOTHING TO DO WITH IT.

Support and defend your rights before you LOOSE THEM. And you will!

Probably because the "please" officer would have not acted like a jerk.

Spelling "Police" as "Please" is not a spelling error. It is an all-out murder of the word.

Spelling errors are one thing but phonetic spelling (not even proper phonetic spelling) should only be reserved for Esco. Everyone else should pony-up just like the rest of us do.
