Most electronic units have some sort of fusing but I have heard of that before and I think a trip back to Hobbico was needed

by switching to Futaba I assumed I did not need a backup transmitter I take extra care of it, always keep it in a hard case, charge it properly etc, and this is the second problem within 6 months... I really hope they will repair since they literally just replaced the entire motherboard on the last service....

please no pissing matches on what brand is better just wanted to know if there was a replaceable fuse before I go and be down for another month

Does the 8FG have a fuse?
Oh that question can't be a good thing.......

Yes it has a fuse BUT it's very small plus it's surface mounted and it's not user replaceable......

I had a dx7 that if I was not careful about how I plugged in the stock charger it would blow the fuse. I guess the plug was lose or shorted.

Maybe they can check that also when you send it back for repair.

Most of these cases are only about 4 screws. Open it up and take a quick look around.

I really feel like I should not have to pay since they literally had to replace the mainboard which is pretty much the entire radio less than six months agao, but we will see

Oh! With this information in mind, I'd not care if it had a fuse, that transmitter would be gone. I would move on to a factory fresh replacement.

Stock battery? I've never heard of anyone blowing a fuse in the 8FG and most of us used 2S lipos. I wouldn't trust it, would send it for repair. The 8FG is very reliable. Maybe it picked up some moisture or something but you could have just a bad unit.
