This is what martial law in the US looks like

Shocking footage has emerged from Friday’s lockdown in Boston, where police, federal agents, national guard troops and SWAT teams enforced door to door searches of everyone’s home within twenty blocks as the entire city was placed under orders to stay off the streets.

The video, shot by a resident from their own house across the street, shows police barking orders at men and women as they order them at gunpoint to identify themselves, put their hands on their heads, and get out of their own home. They are then ordered to run down the street to be further frisked by police as scores of armed militarized cops look on.

Watch at YouTube

The scenes look like something out of a disaster movie, with the backdrop of suburban America juxtaposed with what is essentially martial law playing out in full daylight.

The story floated in the mainstream media that the door to door searches were conducted with the voluntary consent of the residents of Watertown is clearly false. 9000+ Police locked down an entire city and went in with full force, with armored vehicles and combat gear, all to search for an injured 19 year old kid who turned out to be cowering in someone’s back yard.

While armies of police roamed around people’s homes and private property, Public transportation was shut down, businesses were forced to close, and a no-fly zone was enacted over Boston in an unprecedented show of force.

At this point, as military helicopters buzzed over neighborhoods, the Fourth Amendment had ceased to exist in Boston, which quickly resembled a war zone.

The compliant mainstream media reported on the activity without alarm or question. Katy Waldman of Slate wrote an article claiming that under dire circumstances police can suspend 4th Amendment rights against unreasonable searches:

In exigent circumstances, or emergency situations, police can conduct warrantless searches to protect public safety. This exception to the Fourth Amendment’s probable cause requirement normally addresses situations of “hot pursuit,” in which an escaping suspect is tracked to a private home. But it might also apply to the events unfolding in Boston if further harm or injury might be supposed to occur in the time it takes to secure a warrant.

This activity, once again, sets a shocking precedent. Police and military are training in these circumstances every single day of the year. They are fully acclimatized to the process, as if it is completely normal. They do not hesitate in carrying out such orders, which are now being implemented whenever the authorities deem a situation to be an emergency.

This is what fully fledged martial law in America looks like.

Holy Cow! No WAY!!! There had to be more to this vid than what is being let on. I have a 110 lb German Shepard that they would of had to shoot because he would of went berserk on them. They treated my family like that there would be problems. Don't think I could of maintained my cool.

I Call BS on this being a random door to door search.

Exactly.

This video and story has been slithering around Facebook ever since the Boston Bombings. I challenged it and got a lot of folks pissed off. The questions I asked were.

1) How do we know that video was taken in Watertown or Boston while searching for the bombers?

2) That video could very well be from another crime scene. I don't see any evidence on that video that proves otherwise.

3) If Watertown and/or Boston citizens were treated like this then why were hundreds of them cheering the cops and swat teams as they left the final crime scene?

4) If Watertown and/or Boston citizens were treated like this then why were those same people celebrating in the streets and shouting USA, USA, USA and waving American flags?

5) If Watertown and/or Boston citizens were treated like this then why were they celebrating the bombers capture at sporting events all around the Boston area?

I made some enemies of some CT people on Facebook. But, they still could not answer any of the questions.

Seems like a BS story to me.

No offense to the OT.

Keep believing the media, those people cheering were the idiots who welcomed teh cops into their homes. Then after doing that they realized they got their ass inspected so they were happy the proctology exam ended. They also couldve been bussed in to put on a show, it looked like a bunch of cavemen celebrating a wooly rhino kill.

Those officers are wearing the same clothing as seen in multiple news stories and is consistent with what was stated. Heres an actual news story....

I think the video is legit.

They said people in their homes couldnt leave and those outside could not go inside... can you imagine? You were not allowed to go to your HOUSE!

I live in PA... not sure if this would work out in my state..

Im not kidding myself, which is why I own three firearms and a ton of ammo and food. Everyone in my neighborhood has multiple firearms as well.

You can bet your ass they are not coming in my house without a warrant. I wont lie down for them nor answer my door. If they come in, they are getting shot and treated like the intruders they are.

If I did yes, I would put them out of state.

If this stuff that happened in Boston isn't appalling to any of you, then I suggest you look at history. This is unprecedented in recent US history.

You can mock all you want about guns and safety and liberty. But its unfortunate that we have all forgotten what our countrymen have fought for in blood for the freedom that we had yesterday.

Nor is ignoring peoples constitutional rights of the people, because of the acts of another person. Home privacy is one of the most sacred items of our law. Privacy is extremely important to maintain a happy,, free and productive society.

The govt works for us, not the other way around. Without private businesses they have no revenue, without voters they are not elected.

No doubt your rights are important but pulling a gun on officers in that type situation would be pretty much suicide. In reality most people would let them in.You could sue them later.

<sarcasm>
Thanks for the advice... I'll just let them in no problem. I have no problem with govt thugs rummaging through my property to keep me safe in my own house. Its a good they are checking because I sure wouldnt know if he was hiding in my house. And if they asked me if he was there I would probably lie for him.

And if I saw him coming near my house I would just let him in to keep him safe. If he had a bomb I would just stick around as he tried to break in.

And if they found anything in my house they didnt like or how I was cooperating with them (or lack thereof), they wouldnt find a reason to arrest or detain me.

</sarcasm>

Man this is scary that i even have to argue for this.... You think suing them is going to solve the problem? They have already clearly overstepped my natural right to be secure in my home, what makes you think I can just throw the law book at them later?

The only way a gun would be drawn would be if they pointed one at me in my own house, after I let them in of course. If they come in uninvited then I have every right to defend myself.

If you want to roll over and play a slave to your government, that's your prerogative, but I will die for my freedom and that makes me a patriot. I will not be pummeled and scared into submission like a slave to my country.

Bombers terrorized the end of the Boston marathon race. Then the government terrorized the entire town for "their safety"

The suing part was sarcasm on my part, once the government decides to do something, they seem to do pretty much what they want, knowing most folks will just roll over, like it or not.
