Man that crash sure sucks! Done that once with a Protos 500, was using rubber bands to hold the pack, tail exploded and sent the pack through the canopy in a split second. Rained parts for a good while!

ALMOST did the same thing with my Logo 700 Saturday, went flying on 5 hours sleep, not a good idea... Did not tighten down the battery tray bolts, saw the canopy come un clipped landed and found the packs flopping around in the frames. It would be hard for the packs to fall out and thats all that saved it.

ady....Did you find out what made the belt come off the first time? How was the tension on the belt? Were the guides near the main gear ok? Could the belt have been twisted? Bearings OK in the tail shaft?Bill Whittaker

Hi , the heli was brand new , the belt wasn't twisted , the guides were fine , I spent an age squaring up the tail box , the belt was tight , I had others check it over at the field and we couldn't see anything , spooled it on the deck with no blades and she ran great , it popped off on left hand piro's each time , the rebuild will get a nice integrated tail box from rcbuddy I think it's called

edit , i think the post reads that i`m angry , i ain`t , so sorry if that is how it comes over , i`ll start rebuild number 4 as soon as funds allow

ady,

To me belt looks to be very-close to riding-on the right-hand side of the tail-drive pulley in this pic ;

I have always tried to shim mine so that the belt is as close-to center as possible.

As far as the 3-bearing set-up on the rear-post, not sure this does any good as bearings are soo-far away from belt. I have seen a larger single-bearing used here that rides ~ 1-2mm off the belt at that point or 3-bearing set-up in-front of belt (see pic.)

Sux that She went-in, not tryin' to bash ya' here, just give some possibly helpful-info.

The belt appears to have much more gap than mine. Are the black belts narrower?
