Opinions please
What is the best combo (pipe, motor, blades and gearing) for a Whiplash 90 Gasser, running hard 3D?

Hard to go wrong with the set up you see Tim Jones flying. I have run this combo too and it is the most powerful set-up I have seen to date.

690 blades are best when going for 3D on a gasser.

Toxic 270TT
Quickdraw pipe - 6" silencer

The Whip was only available with a 18 tooth pinion (6.89 ratio), the pipe works best at 14,800+ putting the head speed at 2150-2200. The Whip seems MUCH happier at lower head speeds, so the 17 tooth pinion they just released would be the way to go (7.29 ratio).

There is always other stuff being tested, but this is a proven set-up

Is there a mod or option to stretch the Whip to 800 blades?

Gassers huge weight on 690mm blades is just "not smart" IMO.
I figure all that torque put into 750mm or 800 disk will make for a more lively helicopter at lower main rotor RPM (1700).

Even the massive whip canopy will look on par with the longer boom/blades

yes there is a stretch 800 kit coming soon from MA...

We tried it with 710's and honestly all the good 3D guys like it better with the 690's as it pops better for their quick changes...

I am waiting to try it with some of Tim Jones new Cyclone 696 blades...
