Bought a new Truck today..
Well not new,its a 2001 Chevy Blazer..My 97 Breeze is on it last leg and my Wifes 98 Grand AM GT runs awesome but both are too small for trips ect.. Really wanted something a little bigger so its easyer to pack things for funflys and my wife took a week off for IRCHA .We'll have no problems packing all our stuff and all my heli equipment, can't wait ..
Got a heck of a deal on it..Guys son was in the NAVY and won't be back for a few years so told him to get what he can, sold it to me for $1300.00 ...

keiser,
Thanks and yes, they run for ever..Ive worked on a few in the past and know all the common issues (intake gasket,front/back oil lines and water pump) so already bought a good used motor with a full rebuild kit because its worth a new motor down the road..Has a VERY tiny oil leak coming from the back oil line and 2 tiny rust spots that i'll repair soon.Have it repainted and good to go..
We have a 4 year old and already no room in the 2 cars we have now so this worked out really good..
I seen a 98 Dakota R/T that needed a little work and trans was going out..Was a older guy (mid 70's) that owned it and was a FL truck, wanted it bad but gas would kill me due to led foot ..
I really like the new Rams like yours and the Dakota R/T's,my brother had both and were awesome trucks...Kinda funny because my wife really didn't want a truck but after driving it today, shes taking it to work tmorrow LOL..Thats ok because im selling our Breeze and stocking up on parts or getting a new Trex 700E,i'll put the truck to use this summer haha..
But yeah, your Ram looks sweet and lots of room for helis ..Glad I got a truck and hope I get to use it..

Looks good, awesome deal. I have been thinking about a new(ish) rig and am currently narrowed down to either a Subaru Outback wagon, a Jetta TDI wagon or an Audi wagon, late 2000s on up preferably. For what I do that is the most useful type of vehicle. Fuel mileage is a priority due to my commute. Trucks or SUVs don't interest me personally, I don't have anything heavy to tow or haul and our Grand Cherokee plus trailer works for the occasional big thing. I drive a 99 Chrysler Intrepid which gets good mileage but it's a sedan so carrying RC stuff while doable isn't as practical as a wagon. Admittedly you can fit several bodies in the trunk of that car but wagons are so much easier to deal with. The wife has a thing for Jeeps so we keep her in Jeeps. Me, I really prefer cars.

Found a super sweet 2005 F250 that i had my heart set on, and took it for a drive, despite being a bit primative/basic, i loved it.... till i tried to figure out how to transport my 40% IMAC plank.... my Explorer carries it fine.... devastated.Licensed (CASA) UAV operator certificate holder 1-YFOF5-01 www.helicamaerial.com.au

JasonJ,
I was trying to pick between the Blazer,F-150 or 250,AWD Subaru turbo Outback wagon and Focus wagon..Wife wasn't going for the wagons so couldn't pass up the Blazer which she was iffy about driving. The Turbo Subaru's are fun and fast as heck with a $30.00 dollar mod so you can adjust the boost .Hope ya get one, really fun and nice cars.

Heliguychris,
Man that sucks it doesn't fit the 40% good..Sweet trucks for sure and pretty big but I never seen 40% planes in person. The Explorer's do have alot of room inside with the seat folded or taken out,I used to stuff a 97 YZ125 and 98 YZ80 in the back of mine lol..

hootowl,
Its VERY good on gas for its size when it comes down to the cars/trucks I owned in the past other than my 97 Breeze..I used to have a 4WD 4dr 97 Jimmy which is a little bigger than the Blazer I just got, pretty much same truck..Drove it all over the place and was very good on gas..My 4WD 98 Explorer and 02 Montana used ALOT more gas than this Blazer for sure..

BeltFedBrowning,
I had no ideal about that.I have a few sets of oil lines at a buddys shop but think i'll do that.I changed many of these oil lines and its a pain in the azz so thanks for the link .

That is an awesome deal for sure.

I had the same oil cooler leaks in a chevy pickup. I removed them and took them to a local hydraulic line shop. They charge $20 to repair them with braided stainless. Re-used the solid pre-bent aluminum parts.

Humm,im calling around tomorrow and seeing if someone can do that for me..I have a few brand new lines from when I had my Jimmy but always leaked..If I can find someone that can put the braided line on a new set,i'll do that because I rather keep the cooler on it..If not,i'll do the block off...
my Jimmy went through a few lines when I had it so last time I ordered them,I bought 3 extra sets...Dealer parts and still leaked ..

Well the wife called 10 mins ago and said the check engine light came on..Said she went out side for lunch and just sat in the parking lot with the truck idling,5mins later the light come on..I remembered her telling me someone was taking gas out of cars in the area she works in so told her to check the gas cap..Sure enough some dirt head must of tried getting gas because the cap is missing ..Going to get a alarm soon because someone was cutting off catalytic converter's about a year ago..
