130x torque tube sliding forward
Is anyone else having problems with their torque tube sliding forward causing the tail gear to slip? I can push it back and then it's good until it slips forward again, which is occurring more and more often.

I'll try it, but the torque tube is sliding through the front gear which is causing it to be too short to reach the gear in the rear. Maybe there's a point where it can't slide further, so if the tail boom is pushed forward the torque tube can't slide forward any more. I'll check.

Make sure the long slot is forward and the short slot is in the C gear in the tail. I push the tail boom in as far as it'll go but still leave a small fraction of fwd/back play with the drive shaft.

put a small dab of ca glue on the c gear and install the short flattened of t.t. it lets the t.t. slip freely in the b gear and holds it tight in the c gear.

oh yeah, be sure to wipe away any excess glue from back of c gear.

also the boom may not be all the way into the tail this makes the boom to long and the tork tube to short just like onebigjunker
said when the boom is not pushed all the way into the frame.
Mine kept sliping out of tail a metal tail cured this.

I just checked it out, and that was exactly the problem (tail boom slipped out of the frame some). The forward movement of the torque tube is limited by the front gear, but since the tail boom had slipped forward a tad, the torque tube was able to slide forward just enough to allow the tail gear to slip. Now that I pushed the tail boom back in, the torque tube is as far forward as it can go and it is still poking out of the rear gear and almost touching tail blade shaft. My tail gear won't be slipping again for a while. Thanks!

Put a slice of of scotch tape on the side of the boom that goes into the frame. It'll help make it stick.

On my Blade 400 the tail boom kept sliding forward making the belt loose. I glued it with some cheap varnish. It's strong enough to hold it, but not so strong that I can't get it off when I need to. You can't really tighten the frame too much because it's plastic and you'll just end up stripping the threads. I think that varnish would work for the 130x as well.

Mine slips too. And of course, the tail boom screws into the main frame strip easily. I replaced them with 080 size nuts and bolts but it still slips a little. I forgot that the 130 does have tape on the boom so I will do that next. Thanks for the tip!

and remember there are 4 screws to hold the tail boom to the frame, not two. the other two are hidden behind the servo. remove the servo, slide the tail boom up, tighten all 4 holding screws.

D.Magee, Sorry I didn't see your question until just now. Yes, I did solve it. I glued the tail boom into the main frame with varnish. It holds quite well. I wouldn't use CA glue or Crazy Glue as they would hold too well and the tail boom would be stuck forever, and it does break so it will need to be removed at some point. Varnish is plenty strong.
