Gear Ratios?
Background:
I've read Dave Dahls post regarding 17 vs 18 pinion. I realize the 17 does not provide the same head room as the 18, whereas the 18 may result in higher esc & motor temps.

What is the preferred/recommended ratio from Mikado?

I can refer back to Dave's post and also recognize that Mikado includes the 17 tooth in the kit, which implies that 10.29 is the preferred ratio.

If 10.29 is the preferred ratio, why does the Mikado manual show 9.722 and why is the vbar pre-programmed for 9.722?

Were the manuals printed and vbars programmed based on the initial 18 tooth/9.722 setup given to Kyle for testing and they simply havent updated anything? My kit is a recent production model, so I would think that Mikado would have edited the manual and also updated the vbar programming to reflect the "new" 17 tooth/10.29 setup.

I'd be curious to know how many pilots assume the vbar has been programmed properly by Mikado and simply overlook the ratio programming. Is it possible that some of the tail wag issues are caused by this due to the gov running "ineffectively"?
