That is why when people say the VBAR gov does not work well I look at them crazy. Best part is, you get the gov dialed in and the machine becomes the most predictable awesome performing Heli!Team MikadoUSA 480XXTreme, 550SX, 600SX, 700XXTreme, 800XXTreme!!

Is 80% a typical value for the nitro gov? I just recently started using the vbar gov on nitro and mine's set at the default 60%. It holds nicely but can overspeed at times.Team Synergy / Rail Blades / Morgan Fuel

Gain works both ways so increasing it may even reduce your overspeeding. Minimum throttle % could also be looked at.
It's not really possible to judge how well it does on Nitros unless you fly Nitro and have tried other controllers for comparison but the vbar does do a decent job of it IMO.

So let me get this straight, the vbar does sometimes need tuning?

As do all FBL units. Not every setup is the same which is why it has to be tuned for each machine and flying style. That is why when people try Other people's FBL Helis and don't like them, it is not a good representation of the unit.Team MikadoUSA 480XXTreme, 550SX, 600SX, 700XXTreme, 800XXTreme!!

Funny Riq, no it doesn't once you have it tuned to the machine and like the way it handles. Then the settings can stay put!If you skip me I can't play!

The hard part is knowing when im done.

I have no other peeps to fly with or test my setup, therefore I dont know yet if I prefer vivid or precise, with paddle sim and high gains. I have several helis, so thats a lot of testing.

Im not just messing around, im a test pilot for myself, and playing with these toys is serious business.

I was always wondering what to do with my tm1000s laying around, but for a nitro with temp is pretty nifty.

What else are you using for telemetry that you find useful? Are you doing pack voltage as well?

Soft strap used to keep the wire from moving, not straining it at all and no issues definitely no issues with my Futaba setup
Riq,
Nitro motor temps and rx pack voltage were about the only things I found useful for the telemetry. Everything else is either already accounted for like main pack voltage on e Helis (timed flights).

why would you need anyone else to tune your heli to the way you would like it to fly, after all who cares what anyone else thinks about how your heli flys, all that really matters is do you like how it flys ? right ?
The hard part is knowing when im done
your done when your happy with the way it flys, and then leave it alone and just fly it...... lol

I sold my Vbar because the gov could not keep up. I played with the gov a bunch and could not get it to maintain the rpm through constant rolls.

Went back the the Futaba 750. The Futaba gov works really good. If Vbar had a gov like Futaba I would still be using it. I really like the cyclic feel that Vbar has, but the gov just did not do it for me. The gov menu could be a little easier to use. Look at how the multi gov menu works. Easy to set up with detail on what dose what.
