O.S. 105 ( weird stuff happened today)
hey everyone, today at the field i was flying my rave env when i noticed that the motor seemed like it was being held back in some way. at first i was thinking the plastic fan was rubbing up against the fan shroud and it turns out that wasn't the case. so when i got back home to take a look at it i tried turning over the motor and it seems like there is some kind of notchy resistance on the motor. I pulled the back plate off the motor and the bearing is new and looked great.

- is it possible the issue could be the upper bearing. this motor has been ran ever since last season and i forgot to change it out when i replaced did the ball bearing and piston sleeve and liner.

- I also took the clutch stack off and it was the same as before......if its not rave related, so something is going on inside the motor

Check the backplate cover itself.
If the fan nut is lose, then the crankshaft can slide back and the crankpin will wear against the inside of the backplate.

Also, check to see if there is a washer / spacer between the back of the fan and the front bearing. I've seen fans that didn't have a machined in "shoulder" in that area, and the fan will start to rub against the front "snout" of the engine.
