setting up Castle controllers with Naza
Hi,

I'm trying to use 6 castle Ice 50 controllers with the Naza unit. I've updated them to the latest castle firmware. They are in auto-calibration mode but the aircraft leans and tilts when I'm trying to lift off. Once I get it off the ground, it seems that my inputs are relative to the aircraft but very unstable. Any ideas or suggestions?

This is what I found on CastleCreation website.

•NOTE: It is HIGHLY recommended that all users discontinue use of firmware V4.00 due to a known bug that can cause unusual ESC behavior. Users may either upgrade to V4.01 or downgrade to a previous version.
•Functional Improvement: Increased maximum throttle change rate on Multi-Rotor setting. A throttle change of 50% can now be accomplished in .08s.
•Bug fix: Occasional errors were being recorded in the data log. Fixed
•Bug fix: Unusual motor shutdowns, and other controller anomolies including ESC failure. Fixed

The outrunner mode does not specify KHZ or PWM but the other settings are: 8,12,16,24 Khz.

It seems that everything is working except the fact that the aircraft wobbles on pitch and roll. I've changed the gains between 50 and 150 with no luck.Ray N.

Ray, I've yet to see a Castle ESC work correctly on a multirotor for any amount of time. With that said, I use the heck out of Castle ESC's on Heli's, planes, etc. So I'm not downing them in any way. They're simply some of the best out there. But if you just google "castle esc multirotor" you will see the long arduous road that many a soul has traveled upon when using with a multirotor only to end up swapping them out for something else. Now I know Clint and those guys are working on getting a better firmware version that supports multirotor, and I think that everyone thought 4.00 was going to be it, but sadly they seem to have rolled it back. So in time I think they'll get it right. But, my advice... Hang on to those ESC's, but replace them with some 45A ZTW's. ZTW makes ESC's for some of the major brands you are familiar with like HobbyWing. I won't say where to get them so I'm not seeming like I am pushing one reseller, but you can find them with SimonK firmware already flashed for about $28.00 US. Just my 2c
