Help set up Tarot zyx-s
I'm getting a solid red light after every attempt at initialization with the tx and the software from the New Zealand dude.

All the servos are unplugged and I plug in usb, then battery, then try to connect using the button in the program.

All the lights flicker then only the red one is on and gyro doesn't connect.

Has this got something to do with no pc driver for the usb connector? Do I need one for the Tarot usb connector?

yea I read that an older windows program, xp, is configured for the tarot program, (successfully connecting.) I'm trying windows7pro.

A lot of updated info in other forums I got into just now. Uploaded the usb drivers and will try again later.

The inexpensive gyros are a no loss investment when thinking about resale and crash replacement. It'd be tough to accept loosing a MicroBeast in a crash or burn by accidental plugging in.

You have to have the receiver plugged into it, and send all the wires from the receiver to the tarot, then you need the tx talking to the receiver, and the receiver powered up. You do not however need the servo,s plugged in, leave this till you can set the servo frequency after you have connected to the software

Then try connecting.
A solid red means its initialised correctly, but you will not get connection without connecting to a powered receiver.
Good luck

the key thing was the order of connecting everything, THEN opening the program. Only the servos are disconnected until the digital/analogue assignment is made in the gyro.

I got solid red light on the gyro but the "connecting" in the prgram didn't work. I uploaded the usb driver, now to find what port is assigned and try again.

There's the matter of a certain "SET" button somewhere but don't know if it is on the gyro or in the programmer. I understand that after all the setting have been entered on the gyro the rx has to be re-bound. Is that right?

Going to try it tonight.

Half hour a day of sim practice and not far from intermediate 3d status, see, wasn't hard. I hear real flight is easier than the sim.

Thanks so far.

This is what happened when I finally got it connected, yes it did connect with windows7pro.

Everything works normally but for some unknown reason there's no collective and swash pitch though the swash pitch gyro/servo action works when the heli is tilted. Very strange that it does this.

No swash pitch, no collective pitch, everything to set up the dx7 tx as stated in the manual, and everything set up correctly in the programmer.

Any ideas?

I accidentally unplugged the gyro with everything else on and connected, plugged it back in and all was fine. Just waiting to figure out the pitch/collective pitch problem.

I guess you set your servo dead band or what ever it's called before hooking up the servos? And you have 1 sevo type selected in tx? I'm sure you being your going by the manual.

Check you have all the plugs the correct way round, it is very easy to reverse one of the plugs and this has some very strange effects on the whole system. I have done this once before and it had an effect on all the controls. The servo deadband is In the advance menu, and this should be reduced to about 10. The set button is on the side of the gyro opposite the sat input. It's a tiny little push button and needs only light pressure to operate it. And if you are using a separate receiver after you have done our setup it is good practice to re bind to establish proper fail safe conditions.Good luck

cool, will try tonight. I see the set button, I don't remember the manual showing where this is. It's on top because my zyx-s is mounted on the left side. Wires are correct everywhere rx and gyro.

Deadband? will check it out after pulling all the servos and resetting things on the gyro.

My mistake putting the a/e/aux wires from the gyro to the rx in the - pin when they should have been installed in the signal pin. No control from the tx, servos working fine connected to the gyro, what's between them?

Thanks for the tip on the reduced servo deadband. There's about 30% expo in the tx as recomended.
Also what do you have all the servos set to in the Pulse Traveling? (333Hz)?
My tail servo is analogue, collectives digital, so they are assigned analogue for now. When the wires are put in the correct pins (can't find the mini pliers yet) the set up will be double checked. Thanks for the tips.

Glad I wasn't hitting a wall (in many respects).

Should be in the air soon.

Got it sorted out after setting aux and gear to inh in the tx and did set tx/gyro deadband at 10. Two of the wires I use to go to gear and aux were reversed that was it, ohh, and a fresh battery.

A couple of mechanical improvements and it'll be in the air (not today as it is 15 to 20mph gusts out right now)

Thanks for the tips. Welcome to the world of triple axis flight stabilization, one done, one to go. I see a very inexpensive 3x gyro on the market and might throw it on my mighty bl co-ax. Was flying the bl coax in the backyard yesterday and ran out of room real fast, some wind, cheap fun, can't wait to take it to a field and really let it out, lol.

Webranomore,
Rar file type is a compressed file. You need a program like Winrar to extract the files and then run the extracted exe file.

Some .zip programs will extract it but Winrar does all of them. You can download Winrar from a bunch of places and I think your first 10 extracts are free, then you are supposed to pay for it.
