really, you can't think of a scenario were a damaged gallon of nitro could be a problem (leaking)......
I said START FIRES.

Sure a leaking jug will get stuff wet.lol...
And if it leaks into a fire,it will make the fire bigger and better.

Nitro leaking out of a jug will not start a fire.
I literally never use the word literally right.

We can agree on the last part but the 3rd degree burns from tapping on a container is a lie...Maybe not yours but still a lie.
there were alot of people talking about it and it seemed pretty real, i'll see if i can retrace my steps and find the thread again....

i do remember it had something to do with it being in some sort or type of can that it shouldn't be in.....

Nitro is mostly methanol(nitromethane and oil) which is a volatile fuel. I work with methanol a lot at work. It may not be as volatile as gasoline but its definitely dangerous and its VAPORS(just like gasoline) are subject to ingnition and explosion from sparks, open flame and to some extent impact. We transfer methanol from steel drums and a full grounding procedure needs to be followed.

You can put out a cigarette in a bucket full of gasoline......I've seen it done, as you can with nitro/methanol. Its the vapors of both fuels which need to be contained and kept away from an ignition source.

There are cases of hobbyists being burned from nitro ignition.
They are not numerous(just like Lipos), but they do happen.

Pure nitromethane actually becomes unstable over time. Maybe the guy tapping on the container was tapping on pure nitro? Mixed with Methanol and oil, it does not have the same properties.Team MikadoUSA 480XXTreme, 550SX, 600SX, 700XXTreme, 800XXTreme!!
