Custom belts
Anyone know a good source for getting a belt made? I think I'm going to get a goblin 500 for a project but I will need a longer belt for the elevated tail. I want to look into this before having to convert the goblin to use a flexible wire drive system.

Thanks wrongler, even if I use a flex cable to the tail I would still need a belt from the tail pulley to a shaft to drive the cable so hopefully I can find somewhere that will make one.

Yeah I have ordered many custom length and width belts before for different stretched project and most of the time the size you need is in stock.

Here are a couple good places to start to look at , but you will need to know what size you need before starting to look.

https://sdp-si.com/eStore/

http://www.polytechdesign.com/

http://www.econobelt.com/

The 1st and 2nd links I have ordered from with great results the 3rd was given to me by and friend and he had ordered from them with good results.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask or PM me , always glad to help.

Outstanding cap, thanks. I need to get the goblin ordered so I can figure out the sizes. Hopefully the wife will release the funds for it soon Wanted to make sure I did my homework before ordering 650 dollars worth of mechanics.

Stock drive has a new belt calc that really works well. You will need pulley sizes (Tooth count and pitch.. normally XL) and center to center distance. fits like a glove..Home of the "Sea Cobra".....

I've seen the mechs that east coast sells but they are to big for what I want to put them in. I want to do something similar to that with the 500I don't always fly helis, but when I do I prefer to fly scale.

That should work great for you eyefly3d.
As beefy as the Goblin mechanics are you should be able to spin a multi blade head with up to 600mm blade if you install the correct Kv motor size.

I look forward to your build.

Thanks cap, I got to looking at the fuse I'm building and decided I wouldn't be completely happy with it unless I could build a full cabin. Hopefully I can get the mechs soon so I can continue on the build. Heres a link to the project.

That looks great cap, I will check out your thread. My favorite paint scheme for the 145's, I'm lucky that I live a couple miles from where one is hangered and they land at the hospital a couple hundred yards away from my house.
