Ernie you chopped my head off for saying your Fusuno canopy isn't as nice as my Insane Canopy and I am a snob since I pay a lot more.

Now you are over here in the Mikado forum which you don't fly I don't believe and have no dog in this fight except to belittle people and be rude.

If you have no interest in a product except to say it is too expensive just to get a reaction. You don't fly Mikado.

No...You said mine was junk and a POS....

I said $600 is more than I would pay for a canopy.

See a difference?

I NEVER belittled anyone and to be honest...I was in the START HERE menu and didn't know what forum this was.

All I saw was Readyheli selling a new canopy...I was interested til I saw the price.

I am not alone in my opinion either...Not even in this very thread.

Put up either beside a Insane Canopy and it is a piece of GARBAGE!
My bad...you said GARBAGE.

I commented on a price.

I wish it cost less too. Who doesn't? I know it to be low volume as all Mikado fuse's are and I KNOW shipping is expensive. What it cost to make it or time involved or what tea cost in China I don't know.

I have seen and handled one personally at IRCHA last year and it was very high quality.

This is a hobby I will say again. It is JUST as justify-able as owning a model helicopter. If I can't do what I want I will find a hobby where I can. You fly a model that drinks fuel like a 747. I KNOW I fly 700 class nitro for over a DECADE. Justify that? All you can say is you like how it flies and that is fine. This is your hobby. You should.

If you want a fuse buy it, if not leave others alone who do. I'm not griping about the cost of nitro. I hope it goes up. That way I want have to hear no more nitro junk at fun flies...

All has happened is this thread about a new product is now reduced to griping about something that has nothing to do with how it looks, flies or etc.

I've said my peace...

you most be new in this hobby. It was a time that I paid $150 to $200 dollars for unpainted canopy with a bunch of pin holes, later I had to find some friend or someone to paint it and later to find some body to put a good clear coat to it. At the end I paid like $350 to 400 dollars. A good clear cost over $100 dollars and you have to paint a lot of canopies to justify the cost.
The Chinese cheap labor has spoiled to many people and they do not appreciate the labor involve in making and painting these fuselages.

No,I'm not and those times are past.

And let's get this perfectly clear!
I understand limited runs.
I understand shipping costs.
I understand painting by hand.

I am NOT saying the thing costs too much.
I'm saying it's more than I will pay for one.

That's pretty neat.
Is the tail supported by that or is this just covering the existing boom?
Is there a seam between the front and rear section? I can't see how the canopy comes off.

some of the really good fuselages/canopies "add" up to 15mph onto a typical 60-90 glow.

side note, Taya (designer of the raptor) won the first world f3c in 1986 with an Agusta A109 scale fuselage....More power wasn't an option then...everybody had the same engine and level of tuning ability.

They were pushing 60mph at the most in those days, the stuff out of the box now does about 90mph

To go from 100mph to 115mph takes 115mph x 115mph / 100mph x 100mph more power.

No speed freak worth their salt would leave that much power to 'discover' or can get that much more power doing the most radical out of the box things to get it....fuselages, theyre making a comeback.

22 years of flying rc helicopters myself and I guarantee you the first thing you will be thinking about after hitting warp speed is how fn awesome it is, not what it cost ...unless you biff one, been there, done that.

3d-ing it is a risk/waste of a nice piece of speedware!

I would be willing to bet a dollar that you've never carved a fuselage plug, finished it to perfection, used that plug to make a female mold, then polished that mold to perfection, then used that female mold to lay up a fiberglass part, then fill pinholes, paint, and clearcoat .

I have. More than once.

$600 is not too much money.

I would like it if Mikado would just sell one white gel coated and guys could easily put vinyl and have a great looking scheme for cheap or have painted.

Anyone wanting one of these will also want a custom scheme most likely...
