""Have you been flying your first gasser, the radikal 20? Did you try it on that machine?""

yes Raja, have a 257 on my FIRST Radikal 20 with the BH, but not my 2nd Radikal,
haven't been fly since last year, I had to watch my mother die a terrible slow death (damn cancer), is that OK, I have an opinion too, and all that doesn't make me wrong because you say so

more on the subject

the 257 and the 643 have the same Carb Block, and the Tips of the Needles on both carbs are the same (at least on my 2 carbs they are !!), and there are 3 Fuel Inlet Holes on both Carb's Plenums, AND the Fuel Inlet Holes on both Carbs are the same size, yet on the 257 the Middle Hole is closer to the High End Hole than it is on the 643, also the Butterfly on the 257 has a Half Moon shape notch where the 643 does not, yes you have to Turn the Needles in more on the 257, the Notch also helps to mix the Fuel and Air, this is why the 257 work so well for 3D

BTW, the 257 is NOT machined for a Primer Bulb, been there done tried that

Just swapped my 643 and I too like the 257 for tuning. That notch also allows it to idle better on my Predator. The 643 was working but due to age and needing a cleaning I changed it out. It produced plenty of power for my flying. The 257s settings do seem to be a tad finer. That could have just been the gunk I found in the 643 though. Both good carbs in my opinion.

I ran RC boats years ago, and ported my own engines and for others too, and sent a few to Fl, back then ther was no Zenoah 26, no stroking, but we had the Home Light 30

yes and that is where I got the trem *fix all for the Zenoahs* for the 257, got it from Gizmo Motors

ya I had a boat with a homy 30 in it, it ran good.

I also modded my own engines and did a few for other's also.

I wish I could still do the boating it was fun.

my best boat was a f41 cat, my god that this was scary fast. you nailed the throttle and it just about flipped.

for me it was back in the late 80s and early to mid 90s, had few scale brands, and the racing ones I had were *3D* ,, 3D is the brand's name (not made any more that I know of) 3D boats over the years back then had set many records in straight line trials

over the years I had

3D) 42" Ruff Stuff V bottom K&B outboard 45

3D) 42" Ruff Stuff V bottom OPS 45 (you get the wow factor on 50% nitro)

3D) 48" Ruff Stuff V bottom with an OPS 90

3D) 54" Ruff Stuff V bottom, modified G23

3D) 42) Tunnel Vision tunnel hull, modified G23

then I got out of the Racers and when scale with 64" Barracuda and 55" Man of War, both Offshore V bottoms, I had another OPS 90 to put in the 55, but I ended up putting a modified Home Lite 30 in it, and the 64 Barracuda was going to get a water cooled 60cc Kawasaki bike engine with the Transmission cut off, but I ended up selling the boat and engine before I put it together
the 55" Man of War is now sold by Warehouse Hobbies..

but I got tired of having to drive 40 miles to the pond so I got out of boats
