Understand. I admire your optimism.
Dennis, I am not always optimistic. In this particular case I may very well be an optimistic dumba$$

I hope you all took the poll and saw the results.

Hudson your points are great to address the parents that don't care for their children as they shoud but there is still many ,many great parents that struggle enough without having the gov adding to their plate

I personally feel that the parents should be handling this but this is being put into place in an area where, statistically, parents (or lack thereof) are NOT handling it.

I see it as an attempt to keep things from continuing to spiral out of control

I had a Sgt. that use to gripe my ass. He was freakn fantastic, but anal as hell (He was a VERY good Marine and even better father). We were complete opposites, but this is exactly what made us a good team. One day I think I came back from the Bn. CP with fire spitting from my eyes and ass, and he looked at me and said, 'You know, we can only affect change at our level'. That has stuck with me for a very long time.

My level is my family (back then it was my Marines). I affect change is my responsibility to do so. I do feel for those young ones that do not have responsible parents or even role models. But it is the responsibility of the parents to teach this, and quite possibly to reinforce what the school teaches.....AT THE APPROPRIATE AGE AND GRADE.

Well, I would no go that far. Positive Optimism is always good.

Speaking for myself only, I lost that way back in 2008 and started loosing it well before that.

To bad. But America has gone the way of a "Free Sh#t" society. Thats official as of Nov 6th, 2012.

Thats never good.

You wish too really spook academia : As a Parent - Sit in and Audit a Class !!!!!
Get a group of parent's : Randomly audit by observation -

Have the parent's pick the time and class - not the SCHOOL

Plan it so that it is coordinated with a lesson plan or a topic schedule.

Then rotate the class audit :

You stand a FAT CHANCE !!!!! TRY IT - SCIENCE- Government- Biology - Civic's - American History - Economic's : ect

When kid's come home from school:

It used to be " What did you Learn "

Then we settled into Home work --

Today it is " Did you have fun today " ???

A Huge Difference
