Trying to setup banks using aux 4 flight mode switch on jr 9503tx. It shows bank 3 and 1. Would like to change all 3 flight modes.

Any ideas?

Did you watch Mrmel video? You have to select a channel that give you 3 positions like the gov or gyro channel then you should be able to see 3 banks on the Vbar page.

I don't know much about JR but that's the idea. Mrmel video was very helpful for me. I hope this help!!!

Here is a guide for a DX8 that I did awhile back - http://helifreak.com/showpost.php?p=3745201&postcount=3

Will try to do a quick conversion for my JR9303 that will get you headed in the right direction. Maybe even get an additional bank if you are looking for it.

JR9303 Settings:
- When you boot the TX holdown the roller and go to the switch select option.
- F. MOD EXTRA - Set to GEAR SW
- GEAR - Set to GEAR SW
- OUT: - Set to GOV
- Now go into the main screen by t selecting INFO-DISP
- Set GOVERNOR options as Follows

Norm = -82%
Stunt1 = -32%
Stunt2 = +32%
Stunt3 = -32% (This will be an additional bank 1 but best to do in case you have the Gear switch flipped)
Stunt4 = +82%
Hold = -82%

- Now when I go into monitor option my ---- (GEAR) values appear to be -82, -32, 32 in the 3 flight modes (F. MOD switch) and -82 when I flip the throttle hold. In the vBar setup the value might shown different depending on endpoints on the Transm. tab under the Aux / Gyro Gain / Bankswitch

- Nice thing about the JR radio and extra flight modes is you don't have to setup any mixing to get the last bank as the Governor has extra slots.

- Go back to the menu and select GOVERNOR monitor to verify that all looks good. Set F Mode switch to Position 0 (Normal) and GEAR switch to Position 0

Values are as follows
Normal = -82
Stunt 1 = -32ish
Stunt 2 = 32ish
Hold = -82 through all the F Mode changes

- Now flip the GEAR to Position 1 while you have Stunt 2 Selected and GYR value should be 82.

- Change the F Mode switch to Stunt 1 and GYR value goes back to -32 no matter where position of Aux2 switch is. It made sense to only be able to get to Bank 3 through Bank2 as I didn't want to forget to move the GEAR to position 0 and F Mode to position 1 to get back into bank 1.

Vbar Settings:
- Main screen
Active Bank parameter should read 0
Active Bank Selection shoud be Bank 0/1/2/3

- Setup -> Reciever Tab
Aux/Gyro = Channel 5
Aux2 = Channel 5 (I don't recall why I did this and have not checked my current setup with my JR9303 )

- Setup -> Transm. Tab
Verify the Aux / Gyro Gain / Bankswitch values while going through your F Modes and GEAR Switch values should read: -81ish, -31ish, 31ish, 81ish and the Active Bank should be switching through 0,1,2,3

I used the gyro channel tied to the fmode switch. Then adjust the gyro value for each fmode so the bank you want is selected. I used the setup menu so I can see in real time the correct bank is selected.

Edit never mind wynn nailed it.

Thanks so much for the help on this. Could you please check the values I listed in bold, and see if the correct numbers are what I've listed in parentheses? I think it's what you meant to say, as it seems to work that way. Thanks again.

Regards,
Rick

@ R.J.

I have gone over the numbers again and just double checked my setup on my JR9303. The following values yield the appropiate bank that I am after as my hold reverts back to Bank 0 and Stunt2 + GEAR Pos1 = Stunt4 (I guess that others may want a 4th bank for autos and can adjust the GOVERNOR values accordingly).

Norm = -82% = Bank 0
Stunt1 = -32% = Bank 1
Stunt2 = +32% = Bank 2
Stunt3 = -32% = Bank 1 (This will be an additional bank 1 but best to do in case you have the Gear switch flipped)
Stunt4 = +82% = Bank 3
Hold = -82% = Bank 0

I just tried to reverse the ---- (GEAR?) and it doesn't affect the Channel 5 on the vBar. I do recall that you can reverse the AUX2 or GYRO channel to get banks 0 - 3 from -82 to +82 range or just change the sign of all the gains which will yield the same result.

Hope this doesn't cause more confusion.

Hi Wynn,

Thank you for the additional explanation of your rationale. I understand what you are doing better now, and I think it now makes a lot of sense to me that Throttle Hold would use the same bank settings as Normal, and that allows Bank3 to be used for another STUNT mode setting.

Thanks again for posting your setup.

Regards,
Rick

I am behind the 8-ball. THANK YOU all for the input.

In the jr 9503 under device sel I set the aux 2 to fmod switch and set to active. In the vbar aux/gyro set this channel to 7.

Now changing from flight mode 0, 1, 3 now works.
If I change the -atv on aux 2 to -60 bank 2 shows up instead of bank 3. But no option to change bank on throttle hold. I have not tried wynn1427 procedure yet.

The million dollar question is what do I need to change at the field through the tx. Old school I like to change the tail gain.
I am not using gov mode so no worries there...But I would like to have separate flight characteristics through each flight mode.

Can't have both..flight mode and gyro gain changes? Not to change the subject but is it better to modiy settings in the Vbar or in the tx, for expample expo. I remember reading do not change expo in both the vbar and in tx and use D/R in tx to fine tune.

What is common practice or is there such a thing?

If you don't have the blue tooth or a laptop to take the field, disable bank switching and use the gyro gain ch to change the gyro gain at the field. When you know what gain you need for each headspeed, go back and setup your banks. Use the gain values you figured out at the field and enter them into the appropriate banks. You'll be able to see them when you are connected to vstabi. Don't accidentally spool up when switching f modes to see what your gain values are.

Or if you have an Android phone, I highly recommend the app and a bluetooth. 7 dollar app and 13 bluetooth= priceless

Trex 700N settings
What Heli are these numbers for? Does anyone have numbers for tail gain for the Trex 700N. I'm using the 9303 and Vbar full size. Can't seem to be able to adjust gain either through vbar app or radio. Can you do a step by step as you did above for the Nitro bird?? Using vbar governor as well..
