Just wanted to share some pictures of my Lama. Converted to electric power thru the standard clutch for the nitro engine. The motor runs and the clutch does not engage untill a certain rpm is reached giving it a very turbine scale sound at start up.

Thanks for sharing!

Hirobo Lama
Heli143,

I highly recomend the convertions, the reason is reliability. Wheather it be nitro, gas, turbine, cant beat the electric motor for reliable power. Good Luck

Chuck,

When will you convert to 3 blade head and tail like this:

Got the new pilot at ToysRus. He kicks A__

I like the cover you placed in the cockpit over the servos. What is it made of?

This hobby is WAY too expensive!!

Well I have the scale head but the dang thing is so touchy to fly with the scale head that it takes all the fun out of flying it. So I have mine with the traditional fly bar and 2 blades.

There were many, many nice scale helis at the Cajun Heli Fest. Along with a great assortment of good looking pod and boom heli's as well. While I must admit I would love to have the great big Lama that Peter Wales had there at the meet. The Hirobo one I have sounds very turbine like as it spools up thru the clutch. Stan you are right in flight you really cannot tell if it has 2 or 10 blades.

Most importantly is having fun and flying

•fireblade48,

I've got to try that.

I have to admit I flew the Lama with 3 blades and no stability electronics and it was a bit difficult especially in the wind. Now I have a MicroBeast in it and it flies like it did with 2 blades and a flybar; REAL smooooothe.

Thought you were going to get an Align 3G system. Guess that did not happen.

Hope to fly them together some day.

Have fun.

This hobby is WAY too expensive!!

3g system
Well I tried the 3g and sorry to say it sucked. It didn't do anything for the stabilization at all. Maybe I should try again with the beastx.....we will see

I also got to see this heli up close at CHF, we shared the table where I was trying to get my AS350 and A109 up an flying. You have done a really good job with it and I liked the battery compartments. They were really convenient but also scale looking. Nice work.

Still working on the A109, hope to have it up this weekend with new tail blades. I'm meeting somebody this afternoon who has one of these HIROBO LAMAS up for sale so I might be bringing that to Mayday and we can compare notes.

Get a vbar, or beast, they both have a provision for electronic blade phasing. This will tame that 3 blade head down to a pussy cat...
