hi everyone, over the past few months i have been using a substitute rather than the Duct tape mod to make the rave head feel a little more rigid as well as make the dampners last longer.

this is what you will need:

1.) one piece of clear flexible PVC tubing (9mm ID with a 12mm OD)
2.) your choice of epoxy (i use 30 min) or CA

- what i do is take the flexible PVC tubing and cut it to the length to fill the gab in the middle of the hub. then i take the cross shaft and put one of the dampners on it, then take some grease and apply it to the cross shaft to help get the pvc tubing over it as well. (this is all done before putting the cross shaft in the hub), then i apply the epoxy to the one dampner i put on the cross shaft and i slide the cross shaft in the hub with the tubing on it and push the dampner in the hub. after that i let the epoxy set on the one side of the cross shaft. after it has set do the same thing on the other side and push the dampner over the cross shaft and apply some epoxy to it and push it all the way into the hub. let the epoxy on that side set and you should be able to move the cross shaft back and forth (with some force) so it is almost equal length on either side when you put the blade grips on.

- i use a grippy to take and make the cross shaft length on each side and make it almost equal.

the point of doing this is that the flexible pvc tubing is rigid enough to make a difference in flight but still have a little give. the point to the epoxy/CA glue is to keep the dampner from folding over the spacer. (in my opinion the epoxy works better for getting the dampner out.

- if you have a hard time finding flexible pvc tubing that specific size go to Grainger's web site and they should have it.

If you are flying 3D you will want to do this.

Build it, fly it, crash it. Repeat as often as needed.
