I'm new to using an external governor. I've got an e-aurora with a CC 120hv on the 4.02 software. Im also using a hobbywing phase sensor. I watched mrmel's vids and I thought i got the connection and programming correct.

Upon connecting my lipos, the esc does not arm (I no longer hear the confirmation beep from the esc).

Just to be sure ive got my wiring right, my esc throttle is connected to channel 4 on the vbar main unit and the aux port from the vbar main unit to ch3 (throttle) on my esc. I'm running a full range r617fs rx.

Any ideas on what I may have forgotten to do? Thanks.

ESC won't arm is your throttle stick is too high. Can you try to lower your endpoint values?

justin,

i tried lowering/raising endpoints and that did not work.

one thing i noticed is that in the vbar gui, in SETUP, and in the RECEIVER tab, i am getting a signal for the "aux/gyro gain/bank switch" channel, but not "esc/throttle" channel when i vary the collective. is this normal? i assume it is since i'm specifically using the aux channel to my rx channel 3 (throttle) slot.

thanks

Are you in Idle Up 1 in the TX? Do you have -100 to +100 in the throttle curve, or is it straight across at say 70%? What radio do you have? Does the radio have a output monitor? Take the blades off the heli before you mess with anything.

Can you try a servo in place of the esc to verify output?
If your near mountain view I can try and help. I have it setup on my swift and working, had it going on my logo before the CC became fireworks. your welcome to come check it out and see my vbar setup also. It was very confusing initially when I set mine up. Pretty much everything I do on y Vbar takes me reading the info pages and watching videos about 10 times before I get any sort of clue. Still learning, but sometimes two heads might figure it out.

ok. i finally found some time to work on this again.

justin,

i am in normal model and 0-50-100 linear for the throttle curve during setup. i am using a futaba 12z. i am doing all this bench work with all blades off.

smittylube,

thanks for the offer. i might take you up on meeting with you. this thing is driving me nuts. i have attached a servo in place of the esc and i do get a response when plugged into the "servo" slot of the v-bar main unit.

504Rone,

i am running the full patch cable setup and not s.bus. the collective/esc slot is tied to the pitch channel on my receiver. i did try what you suggested anyways but with no success.

===================================================================

when i simply plug my esc into throttle ch 3 on my receiver, with fixed end points i end up with low and high end point values of 130 and 100. the esc arms as it should and motor operates fine w/o external governor.

after my end points are set on my esc, i plug the esc lead into "channel 4" on the vbar main unit. i then run a patch cable from "aux" on the main unit to my rx throttle channel "ch3". for aux calibration of the vbar, i end up with 108 and 95 (formerly 130 and 100) for the low and high end points. when i power up my system, i hear the confirmation beeps for power but not the initializing beeps to confirm that the esc is ready to go. the esc doesn't arm with the epa values of 108,95 or 130,100.

i'm at my wits end here guys. any help is appreciated.

thanks

thanks. that was it!

when i watched mrmel's video some wording was flashed on the screen that said to leave the motor off and max throttle knobs to 100, 100. i didn't notice that that was only for helijive owners. i calibrated my throttle and everything works just fine. i'm going to fly the heli right after this...
