You were lucky that it did do more damage to the heli. When I first began I was doing the same thing but my blade grip came off the whole thing exploded It was my first boom strike.

It's hard to run from a kneeling position. There are so many things wrong in that video, I can't list them all.

No safety glasses and looking at a spinning blade only inches from your eyes ! That really sends chills down my back.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

Just remember, he is not experienced and obviously had not received any help. So I think he did pretty good for what he had to work with. He was being quite innovative on his approach.

At 13:00 that was me Feb 2007 in the living room with bunny hops with a Blade CP Pro. So funny, good memories. I remember the frustrations of lifting off just a little bit and the darn thing wouldn't stay still. And 16:45 was classic first-time "I broke it!". Of course the slowmo playbacks savor the moment for ever. Great video, and keep with it. It gets easier after allot more crashes and a few totalities.

I've seen much more "un safe" videos then that, some invlove back alley by a garage if ya know what I mean... lol

Anyhow I think aside as others have mentioned your proximaty to the heli itself you did put some effort into some safe aspect approcahes. Time and experience will solve all of this.

...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

Well...and thats a deep subject. We all see what you should not do. I was really happy it was the heli and not the operator. Hey, get some help PLEASE, or your time for having fun can be time of dressing your wounds. I hope the next video we see from you will be with someone helping you with the right things to do in this hobby. Good luck and be safe safe safe.

As he was resting his chin on his fist in deep thought I realized what he was contemplating...

"Now, I just don't understand how an intellect like myself, an artisan of the woodworking discipline, an ambassador of precision calculations, an accomplished hardwood floor craftsman, and a man of great patience could discover this little whirly birdie thingy to be such a challenge."

Enjoy things that money can buy IF you don't lose the things money can't buy.
