This is gonner sound mad but its not a one off its every flight since fitting a lynx gasser clutch on my 91 hzr
The clutch was bought by mistake but I decided to fit it as that's all I had .

The gasser clutch has no recess and is a solid unit and a lot heavier .

The heli is much smoother and less vibes but the amazing thing is how much longer it flys .

I've been in the motor trade for 25 years and I think it must be down to smoothing the torque out and the engine does not have to be hitting mac throttle with every stick movement thus not wasting fuel .
My run times have always been 9.5 minutes and always have a tiny bit if fuel on bottom of tank and full header .
Easily doing 13.5 minutes now to use same amount if fuel .
It's got every body scratching there heads as there all out and landed and I'm still flying around :-)

My bet is that your original clutch was slipping causing the motor to over rev and waste fuel.

Hmm no had this 700 since they first came out , been its on its third engine and loads of clutches and liners .
And the run time just improved instantly .

If it has been slipping I would have worn the friction material away in no time .

And I've changed it but its never been an issue .

If the clutch is alot heavier then it is acting as a flywheel. It will in some instances slow the response of the engine but does it really matter on a helicopter? It is not a racing car where you need instant pick-up.

The heavier weight will smooth out the engine just as it does in a car engine.

Flew it again on weekend and its the smoothest this heli has ever been , run times are crazy compared to what it was .
It's like my heli is on Duracell batteries every one has landed and I'm still there for afew more minutes every time :-) .

Yes it's the first gas one .
Been flying it again all weekend , 3d also is just so smooth plus the extra run times .

Also I don't think you will ever break it .

No fits straight in :-)
My one friend is so impressed he's thinking about fitting the 600 gasser clutch to see if it gives same results in his 600

Gasser Clutch...
A Gasser Heli runs on much Lower RPMs thus needing a Clutch that will engage at a slower rpm... This clutch was designed by Ali from Helibug for his Gasser Trex Conversions Costumers.
The extra fly time you are getting maybe from the clutch engaging at a much slower rpm with minimal to No Slippage thus lowering your fuel consumption... As oppose to engaging at a higher RPM using more fuel.

Ofcourse, I can be wrong... Though one of my buddy did this awhile back when this clutch became available and did experience longer fligth times....

YES... YoU puLL stART ! ~~~~ NO... it's NoT a FREAKN' Nitro !

That is a good logic but I think if the clutch was slipping that much then the liners would burn out in afew flights .
Personally I feel it's because it's smoothing the torque out cause of the weight acting like a flywheel .
Wat ever it is I love it :-)

I fly a lot of 3d I'm not a pro just average .
I can not honestly see any performance loss which I expected because of the extra weight .

Doing side ways tick tocs etc it feels like it has more torque and is so much smoother , I wish others would try it and let me know .

Would imagine the bigger the engine the better , my buddy runs the ys 120 and I think this clutch may help smooth it out and improve run times .

No updates usually means he found the clutch wasn't as wonderful as he thought.

My guess is he was running lean after he reassembled the clutch / motor to the frame - that was getting him an extra 3 min.

I've done that too - I get 3 or 4 clicks too lean and my flight time goes up by 20%. But the engine get hot and I re-check the needles and I get back to normal.
