I've got a Hitec X4 AC charger, and I'm disappointed in the charge rates on it. I am charging 6S 5000 mAh packs, but when I set it to 5 amps charge, the displayed charge rate only goes to 2.2 Amps. Doesn't matter if I set it for balance charge, fast charge, or standard charge. I had the same issue years ago with an original Triton charger, but noticed friends with the Triton II were charging at the amperage that they had set it at.
Does anybody know why this is happening, and/or if there's a workaround in the programming for this?

What you have there is only a 50W charger.
You have maxed it out at 2.2AMPS.
Hardly enough for a 6S 5000mAh battery.
Time for a real charger if you are now using 6S 5000mAH packs.

Thanks, TheWoodCrafter

...so this should improve if hooked to a 12-volt power source like a car battery at the field?
Yes, these are my first 6S packs, I have used 3S in the past for smaller helis/planes, but not with this charger. At that time, I had a PolyCharge 4 and a Triton 1.
This happens when I'm only charging one pack.
A little new to larger electrics. I was always a nitro guy.

No this will not get any better.
The charger output is way too low no matter what you power it with.
With a 6S pack at 25V, you will only get 2AMP max from that charger.

Go look at a high output charger like an iCharger or a PowerLabs.
