I just returned to the hobby after a 2-year break. When I sold off all of my stuff, FBL systems were in their infancy. I was a bit overwhelmed when I started shopping. I came back and bought all new stuff, and the JR E6 550 FBL combo. I don't know what the stigma was over JR gyro systems, I had a 770 in my old T-Rex 600N, and loved the insane piro rates I was getting, with no drift like others have complained of.
I haven't had a ton of flights on my new bird yet, because I'm in Wisconsin, and am not a huge fan of the cold. So far, I'm liking it. Setup was easy, but I haven't set any of the others up, so I have nothing to compare it to.
It did have a slight drift to the front left, which turned out to be an error when I measured the linkages to the swash. Two turns out on that side, and it's rock solid. I have yet to really wring it out, though.
After my long, boring story, my opinion is, so far, so good.
You probably don't see a lot of posts about it, because like all JR stuff, you just don't have problems with it.
Aviation has a perfect record, we've never left one up there.
