Hello Michael!!
Good to hear from you... how are things going for you??Hope all is good.

I was looking at one of the mag's last week and I saw Grimracer listed.. I was going to get the article and see if that was your equipment they were talking about....

Jim, I am thinking that your Cobra might be a good candidate to try the pink out on and if we like it then I can do mine that color!!! Bet that would give them something to talk about in the pits!!!!!

Champ,(Stan)

Things are well my friend. I have been working on my new scale for next year but it’s a tick slow going this year. I will not make make the nats this year. I have a sister getting hitched in central WI (My old stomping grounds) and that’s going to cut into that event. (just one of those deals). I will however be coming back to IRCHA.

Speaking of Grimracer make sure you read the article I did for Model Aviation this month! “you’re on the clock” It’s a fun read and I hope everybody get a better understanding of what fun that aspect of the hobby can be.

Take care!

Nats...
Michael, sorry you will not be able to make the NATS, but sometimes "life" gets in the way of some of our fun!!!
Hope your new machine will be ready for you to compete at IRCHA though...
I will most certainly read the article you wrote... I must have caught just a bit while flipping through it the other night... now that you reminded me where I saw it, I will go back and read it!!!!

Thanks and see you later this season...

I'm sure Darrell's fuse would easily fit a turbine....

I only watched riptide a few times - but screamin mimi really confused me - that's a big expensive heli to operate.
I always thought it was like if Jim Rockford drove an 18 wheel tractor/trailer instead of his firebird.

Large Enough!!!
I would have to agree that this S-58 would take turbine mechanics without any problem at all... the e-power mechanics fit fully inside of the doghouse... with a turbine, you might need to drop a bit lower, but they would go!!!!

OK you guys, your killing me with reference to all these "vintage" TV shows!!!! Boy are we being "dated"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vintage??? Riptide isn't vintage.

I used to watch Sky King and Ripcord and Whirlybirds. Thats vintage.

Big heli
I remember Ripcord and Sky King as well...I remember seeing my first heli near Coronado. Was a Coast Guard S58 coming over the beach near San Diego.

Made a huge impression on me in 1959... Thought it was a ginormous bug!
