I have an old Hangar 9 Heavy Duty 12V Super Starter. It is starting to show it's age, with the shaft starting to wiggle within the case. Where can I find replacement bearings / bushings for this starter?

I could disassemble it and take some measurements, but then where to look? Not to mention that I'd rather not disassemble it until the replacement parts are here so I'm not grounded.

Thanks in advance. BTW using "electric" "starter" "bearings" and "bushings" in the search string did not help much. A lot of the posts were from the Classifieds.

I know, I was hoping to find the bushings / bearings. You know mine has all the wires cut for wireless operation. And it was a PITA to do. I'd rather not do it again, unless I absolutely have to.

I have an Align Super Starter on 4S I can send your way for $50 or so.

Lipo and all included.

Would also sell my Hobbico 180 and 5S lipo for $60 or so.

The one on the right...

I had a hobbico starter apart the other day and noticed that they are pretty much junk and what I would consider a throw away. The bushings were a spherical bronze material and were held in with a cheezy retainer. The brush holder was flimsy plastic. Im pretty sure you'll have trouble finding generic bushings.

I would think it would be better to run your old one into the ground and get a new one wired up when the other dies on ya.

I think I will give it this season, check deterioration, and get me another one later. You might be right.

Thanks for the offer McKrackin, but if I can't find the repair parts, I'll go new.

I've got a Dynatron in the drawer, with a 4S lipo and fixed start shaft, but it is so frigging huge and heavy that I prefer to use this one. I also use this one for my planks. Something I can't do with the Dynatron.

Dump the fixed start shaft and use the Dynatron. You can buy every individual part for the Dynatron from Sullivan.
