Very nice.

> Breaks down or maybe makes tables at the field

With the way you've made the top and bottom, maybe the sides could fold flat.

One end and one side will have a flexible fabric hinge and fold flat (2 pr). The top/bottoms, Im thinking about making folding legs, so that they could be used as field tables.....Dual use, Im big on that.

The top and bottom could lock together to make a larger working surface.

As shown, top/Btm are 49" long but only 11" wide. So perhaps link them side by side.....
Or if the box was a 2 up size the width would be a more useful 18" or so wide.....better Table size..and more stable

As is, the box stands 17" high, which is a pretty good height if you are sitting in a everyday folding camp chair, thats about knee high as you sit...

Id like to find some camp chairs that are the right height for the everyday folding tables......camp chairs are too low.

Thanks guys, did cabinet making for my daily bread back in the day and I still enjoy a bit of it now and again.

Thanks Ron.
This was built for 5o size Nitro but the design is adaptable.
What happens if you need it taller?
Just replace the 1/4" sides with whatever size you need....
Keyed alike locks are next up

Its got some kinks to work out but thats why its a prototype

Its hard to make money doing cabinet work. So much time and cost involved. (Though Im not opposed to the idea) It is fun. Last summer I made a small home Heli work shop;tool box, rolling Heli work/storage bench, 3 counter tops and a free standing adjustable shelving unit. (pics in gallery)
I always work out of those white plastic trays, keeps all the bits off the floor and together. Turned out to be a nice little work space, of course the view over looking the Ohio River helps.

So home shops almost done and Im moving on to the mobile part.
Transport boxes, tables, Field box, Field tool box, Cook box (I'll be camping this funfly season)and who knows what else.

If we only had more time and money

Worked on the locks, which are needed to keep the package together. Looks good right? Until you look at where the slot is in the side panel.....Its way too low. More meat is needed under the slot. This prototype is pretty much, junk. The slots in the wood edge are much too shallow. I may find a way to route them deeper but at the end a new box will be needed.
So typical for a new design....

That is nice work (excluding the small error) I'll need to get you to redesign my office so I can hide all my hobby projects when not working on them. It looks like a bombed out hobby shop right now.
