Hi guys I am setting up my new v2 FBL edition heli and I found that if I set my control rods with the control rod tool, then set the swash leveler tool under the swash.

With my servo horns at 90 degrees,my swash sits above trhe thunder tiger swash leveler tool, yet I read a review saying that these tools made the adjustments easy???

I belive that with the servo horns at 90 degrees, you sit the swashplate on top of the leveler tool, and then adjust the servo links untill they can snap on the swash without disturbing the levelness???

So could someone please tell me,if I go by this guage or swash level tool religeously? Because the guy reviewing this heli said it worked.

Should I just sit the swashplate on the tool and get the servo horns as close to 90 as I can and then adjust the links manually,or go with the linkage rodd guage, and then use my on top of swash level tool to level the swashplate.

I am waiting next to my heli right now so I can put the head back on if anyone is good enough to reply quick

What ever you do the servo arms must be 90 deg place the tool then adjust the links to make level, hope that helps

Ok of course the servo horns are 90 degrees at mid stick, but if I use the linkage rod guage to measure all the rods'then place the swash leveler under the swash, the swash sits higher than the leveler tool.

So the rod guage is not accurate or the swash leveler,or the rod guage is just a rough estimate? But why have it if I'm just going to drop the swash on top of the leveler and adjust the rods till they snapp on??

And I was looking to use the swash leveler since I figured its also putting my swash in the very middle of travel??

This heli does not have any mixer arms attached to the swash so once they are at 90 then the swash is in the middle,so how do I find the middle also?

Is it possible to get complete even level swash through entire collective range'with no epa?? I have been trying like crazy,I got all servo horns at 90 pretty much all the same, and adjusted all linkage rods exact, and although I have no trouble leveling the swash at mid stick.

The swash tips a tiny bit one way or another at high or low collective range,

There will be a tiny gap on one of the 3 corners of the swash or 2 of them....the swash still looks level by eye but???? Could you give me some insight

the swash level tool is just that, used to level the swash.I do not believe it is supposed to set the swash to its mid point.Different servos have their output shafts at different places so there will be differences depending on the servos used.Unless this particular swash tool is designed specifically for 1 heli and specific servos.

AS far as swash tilt during travel this is normal as its hard to get 3 servos that move EXACTLY at the same speed always. On a heli of this size if you get it level at mid, then use epa to get it level at high and low stick, you should be good to go

Well yeah man, this is flybarless, there is no EPA...that's my whole problem.

On my flybarred helies,I have no trouble at all getting the swash to ride level at all points.

But I am using a Copter x CX1000 flybarless unit, and there is just servo trim,no EPA.

TOOL IS A BAND
If all three swash linkages are identical in length..

All three cyclic servos are at exact 90..

The swash will be level. Tool not necessary.

You can achieve a level swash with FBL using endpoints. It simply depends on your FBL unit. I know both the Skookum and Mikado, possibly even the 3GX (forgetting) allow for EPA to level swash at high & low stick. I use a Skookum 540 on my Titan. However, depending on your pitch range and flying style (everything except hard 3D) it will likely be entirely unnoticed during flight.

Also, one thing to keep in mind, the ball links are unilateral which makes it difficult to get a perfectly level swash at mid stick. I remove a ball to press fit it in from the other side then screw it in to get as level of a swash at mid as possible.

I never build a bird without using a swash leveling tool, makes for a known smooth bird
