great unit just as good as a vbar or cgy750. most simple of the three to setup, smallest of them and the cheapest. this system should do very well im glad i tried it very happy with it.

So nowadays its stupid to buy a FBL system for more than $200 and change, for flying 3D?

well look on the bright side maybe the others will realize they are over priced and prices might start to come down. it happened with lipos i remember when 6s packs were $350

MSH brain
the first firmware was ok, it had some issues with the tail and the elevator. After the second and then third update they fixed the issues by doubling the values in the advanced mode for cyclic, some people were maxing out the sliders and still had an elevator bobble so the updates fixed the issues for sure. over this past weekend i was helping a friend set one up on a goblin 500. This person was using beast x before this and he said he couldn't believe the difference in feel of the unit compared to the beast x. it took about 4 flights and we got it dialed in perfect for him.

-The only thing i would suggest to make the advanced section in the setup wizard more understandable would be to have a section in the software that explains what all the different kinds of gains do (derivative, proportional, integral.) this would make the unit even better!

overall great unit, great price, and you don't have to pay for the option to use the Gov on the unit.

This is where some of these units are going wrong, too many things to adjust and no explanation or simple explanation of what they do! They should be getting these things right by now, Vbar and BeastX have managed it! Have you seen the b*****s you can alter in the data pod on the vortex?! Its a joke!

Precisely as your own post says "you can"; but you are not required to. You could say the programmable FBR heads were a joke and why on earth did they ever offer us heavy and lightweight paddles. If a car has adjustable suspension it does not mean every user needs to change what the manufacture set, but its there for those that choose to.

The setup guide clearly lists the things you will need to fine tune in your first flight which are 2-3 items (tail gain, governor gain, etc) deepening on your particular setup. I can usually dial in a heli in in less than half flight pack and enjoy the rest. First time users will probably take more since they usually want to get a feel of how much things change in flight when you for example step up 5%.

I think Richardmid1 and Angelos are both correct, hear me out, on one hand, one should look at a somewhat new technology and say why are they giving us so many fiddling options? I just want it work with me so I can go fly! But on the other hand you have the perfectionist that wants to know that after he or she spends $$$$ for a unit that replaces a FB, they want to see proof of the over the top technology. Me, I would rather one take the sweat and tears research, sum it up in a neat:1,2,3,4,5 option, and take the rest of the $$$$ options, put it in a safe and offer the combination to the Coqs

Its like super cars you see, the cars are getting super ridiculously more geeky and faster, but the people who can afford them don't really need to know what active yaw control, reactive suspension dampening, and a 400ms computer controlled twin clutch gear box does, they just want to know they have it, because they know its expensive and its desirable by the masses. Anyhow, if one has that much money they will never be able to use it to its full potential anyhow because they are either just too fat or just too old or don't have the skills to take it to its full potential

So on one hand you have a system ie. a BSX, which takes years worth of arithmetic, crammed it in a little box with options that just about every pilot can enjoy, simple and brilliant not much to go wrong and on the other hand you have super car systems such as the VBar, VX1, and CGY750, which are all really good but also offer super geek levels of adjust-ability, lots of stuff to go wrong if one chooses to venture out into those tedious menus(suspension tuning). Does one need these super levels of nerd technology? I don't think we all do, but for those who do, its nice to know that its there after one spends $$$$ for a system that pretty much almost does the same thing as less expensive one. Why is one paying a premium for higher end systems you ask? I believe its the bragging rights for the "almost does." So its like the GTR vs. Lamborghini!
Give any of the FBL systems to Tareq, I bet he beats the snot out of any of them.

No im talking about settings that tune out unwanted/bad behaviour, not just simply things like pitch response, cyclic rate, expo etc. which are all just personal preference.

Of the only 2 accounts ive heard of the Spartan Vortex both times settings had to be fiddled with to get rid of a wobble! Pretty much what ive heard about the CGY 750 also!
