Y do u want to run an os carb on it ?
Me and my butty both had 2 of them each and never touched them for 2 years just flew the hell out them with no problems .
With even had the first 2 needle carbs .

They like to be set on the rich side , we only fly in idle up and these engines are designed really for max power so was perfect for our needs .

Only down fall they have is when they wear out or fail after two years of hard running parts replacements especially over here in uk is crazy , piston is only sold with liner combo etc so by the time you by overhaul parts its like 2/3 thirds the cost of a new engine .

Wats that off ? Unless its off atleast a 60 the jets are going to restrict the power.
I heard a lot of guys fitting the os 90 3 needle carbs on there 55s and having good results for instance .

Is it a bolt on fit then to Rossi ? If so worth a try if not I would stick to the 2 needle one .
As it may restrict power .

Why don't you just get the Novarossi 3 needle carb?

I fly the 57hr and have been for just about 2 years. It is by far the BEST motor i have flown. Theres ABSOLUTELY NO reason to run the OS carb. Run the 3 needle from rossi and you will NEVER look back. PLEASE make sure you shim the head correctly for the nitro content your gonna run. The 3 needle carb is great as you can really get the MAX out of your motor. If you have any questions regaurding this motor please contact me.

I'm afraid your results with the OS carb may not be too satisfactory. The NR engines all have "turbo" boost cranks. That's how they make more power than a typical OS engine of the same size. My fear is that when the NR comes on boost at around 16K-18K RPM, the OS will not have properly sized jets to deliver the increased fuel needed when on boost. The result could be a lean run and a destroyed engine. It's your call!

As long as ur confident and understand when ur engine is lean etc I don't see the stress .
If no tried stuff like this then we would never never know .

nitro engine can take a good beating before they pop

+1 REX! also not gonna hurt to try the os carb but i CAN garuntee it will NOT run at its peak performance. And remember this motor LOVES high headspeed. Most motors peak at 17500 the rossi peaks at 18500 meaning running headspeeds above 2200 no more then 2300 is the norm. I run at 2278 and it just loves me for it. Also this motor is VERY forgiving on the needles(rossi carb). Also this motor is RECCOMENDED to run hotter then most motors which is like 220f right under the head like os. My fellow team mates have been running these motors up to 280s on the head with great results. I have to many gallons to count on my rossi and its STILL running strong. Its very sad they got a bad wrap due to the "2 needle" carb and people shimming the head incorrectly. My advice GET THE 3 needle carb shim the head right and you will be AMAZED!

Wifeorheli , to be honest I found when shimmed correctly and set ok there's no problem with the 2 needle carb .
Like said earlier I had 2 if them and my buddy had too and we had no issues at all .
The only time I ended up messing with the mixtures was when I had blown the exhaust rubbers which had a massive affect on the mixtures .

Even though the Rossi revs a lot harder etc than the os does not mean if will starve of fuel , end of the day , the more air it pulls through the more fuel .

Heli eddy just try it for gods sake lol and put ur self and us out of misery lol .

that exhaust w/ the rubber seal and 4 grommets only last 5 flights for me. Hatori grommets and seal works much better.

Yes OS carb works on NR. I use the 2 needle carb from OS and works out perfect. Tons of torque and none of the lean run. OS carb is very consistent and easy on tuning.
