you're not getting it Dusty. We're pulling out of this IN SPITE of what he's doing. If he'd quit meddling and throwing money at every socialist agenda he can dream up, we'd have left the recession in our rear view a couple years ago...at least. We're on the uptick and he'll point to waht he's doing and say "see, it's working". Well, no, it's not. Everything he's done retards growth...period.

fwiw..

The GOVERNMENT is saying we are recovering(?)faster than "most" economies....I only have my experience to cite, but as I contact many companies on a regular basis, none are healthy and expanding...Many are contracting, few are busy, none are investing in equipment...Most cite new regulations and uncertainty for their position.

The truth is the US is recovering from the financial crash faster than most other developed countries.
No it ain't dusty. You don't live here and see the vast changes in our economy day by day. Its getting nasty, and its going to get nastier.

Your chart sucks. Big time. It means nothing when we go to the gas station to fill up with gas that has doubled in price in 4 years or the grocery store where food prices have gone up approx 20% in 1 year. It means nothing when our southern border is open. It means nothing when the guberment "Free Sh#t" given out in this country in growing by astronomical rates beyond any reason or common sense. It means nothing when your hours and your wages are cut back to make ends meet. It means nothing when your home is foreclosed because your take home pay is diminishing with no end in sight along with climbing utility bills with more to come as promised by the obummer and his green agenda pals. Those are just some of the things your phony chart will not show. People are starting to take notice.

The uncertainty in our private sector is getting worse and worse with more revelations to come.

YOU have no clue. None what so ever.
Do you believe the governments of most other developed countries are also trying to destroy their countries?
Beats me.

I live here. Not there.

Why should the US economy be miraculously growing faster than other countries, when it wasn't prior to President Obama being elected?

You don't live in other countries, so you don't see the ''vast'' changes in their economies.

Well, that is the point I am making. I am comparing the US to other countries, and pointing out the the US economy is growing faster than the economies of most other developed countries, when that wasn't the case prior to President Obama being elected.

If you don't like the facts, perhaps you should stick to posting cartoons

C'mon man, you're smarter than this. Bush's term was punctuated with record growth and prosperity until the Dems took control and killed it all. That being said, everything regarding the economy is cyclical. What goes up, must come down. Well, it did go down...for 4-5 years. Now it's going up. Really no way to stop that, as much as Obama is trying.
All I'm saying is that if certain Obama agenda items hadn't been put into place, we'd be seeing a stronger recovery and a very robust economy. Obamacare is the boot on our necks. I know LOTS of small business owners that want to hire, NEED to hire...and won't do it because of the uncertainty with Obamacare. And to make things worse, they're dropping health insurance for the employees they do have, often accompanied by pay cuts. Everybody is leery and scared about what he's going to do next to hurt them. And they're right to be scared. I'm just thankful it's just lil' old me and a computer eeking out a living. I'd hate to have to have the overhead of a building and employees, the stress of it would kill me.

PS - there's a reason corporations are making so much money right now, and it's not greed. They're making do with less bodies, because of the current atmosphere created by the Liberals. I'd be hoarding money too if I were an evil corporation.

Growth from 2000 - 2007 in the US economy was below the OECD average.

Is that the time period you're referring to?

Whereas growth in the US economy from 2008 - 2012 was above the OECD average.

as D would say, "don't know, don't care". All I know is that everybody I knew was taking vacations, buying new houses and cars and watching the news seeing great economical numbers. If other countries were doing even better, well then, good for them.
I would think those international numbers are skewed because of some exploding 3rd world countries and the economic booms by former poor nations like China and India...moving into positions of being major international economic powers and their numbers alone altering overall data. But I'm no economist, just conjecture on my behalf.

Prior to the financial crash, no doubt the same was true in most if not all other developed countries.

China, India, and 3rd world countries, aren't OECD countries. There are a small number of 2nd world member countries, but most OECD countries are 1st world countries.

Car sales have rebounded and car dealers are seeing some of their best numbers. Houses are selling faster than they can build them, if you do not show up with cash your offer will probably be shoot down. Most houses in California aren't staying on the market for more than a week. As for business's, I have been expanding offices, not down sizing like I did for years. The stock market has hit an all new high of over 14,000.
Bush's term was punctuated with record growth and prosperity until the Dems took control and killed it all.
If I understand you correctly, none of it was Bush's fault, it was the democrats fault even though the president has the last say, but when Obama is in office it is all his fault. That makes perfect sense.

nope, never said that. You're putting words in my mouth.
Bush did nothing (other than maybe the tax cuts) that made that boom happen. What he did do wrong was to sign off on Pelosi/Reid's tomfoolery. For that (and to a certain extent..Iraq), I've never been a big fan of his. I won't give him a pass on his last 2 years.
As far as Obama, all the crap you see now has sprung from HIS mind (or Jarrett). What's going on now can be directed right back at him.
Hey, personally I'm doing better now than ever, at the least since 2006.
You and I are in the same field and I'm regularly putting in 80-100 hour work weeks and am at the point where I'll have to turn away any new clients. So personally, Obama's not hurting ME. But I see a lot of bad stuff going on and there are certain aspects of his agenda that are just now starting to kick in and I think within the next year, we'll see another big downturn. Now that I've bought every toy I can think of (other than maybe a couple new guns), every penny I make from here on out is going into a coffee can in my backyard. I really think once the full force of Obamacare hits in 2014, we'll see some really bad things happen economically because of jobs. Hopefully I'm as wrong on that as I was on the past elections...
