When you click on the servo selection for tail on 5.2 software version it gives a selection for "analog" servo. I assume then it is ok to use an analog on the tail ? Also,if thats the case, can you use an "analog"on the throttle servo ? Thanks, WP

No, only digital servo can be used as far as I know.
Do not use Analog setting unless you have analog cyclic as it slows down things very much (to the point where you do not get good performance)

It sure gives you the choice of analog on the tail.I am flying it on a Vario gasser so speed means nothing to me.If its only speed that it affects ,why not use analog on the throttle also. Just my thoughts. Thanks for the help, WP

If you fly Analog on a bigger scale/vario etc I guess it might be doable, you have to check with vstabi.info I have not measured the control speed on the throttle servo when swapping to analog.

I found the link and have sent them an email.Since the tail setup had a analog on the select list I did select and setup a analog servo and it works.I will post what they say about analog on the throttle.

No response because they had to test themselves to make sure.

It's safe to use Analog throttle servo regardless of port, but if you want the slowest possible its the combo of setting Analog in the program AND using Collective/ESC port.

That said, it's important to select output port BEFORE connecting a servo, because if you do not and the port is used for other stuff (non-throttle) it might be in digital mode = burned servo within seconds.

MrMel, An update on the loading and operation of my software . A friend came over this morning that is a lot more computer savvy than I and we/he finally got it working. We had a little problem getting the driver to work but he finally got it and from there we were able to get the unit registered and updated and everything works great on my WINDOWS machine. We still could not get it to work on my Macbook Pro. Granted ,my Mac is Mountain Lion OS 10.8.2 ,but surely I hope to get it running on it also as that is the machine that is so much better to carry to the field.Any ideas ? I'll finish the governor setup and spool her up and see what happens. Thanks for your help . WP
