When spooling up in idle 1 which is set to 1750 rpm my vbar gov initially overspeeds and then settles down to the requested headspeed... is this normal or is there a way to correct it. I dont really like that it goes full blast on the initial spoolup.

There is a ramp up speed that you can adjust. As far as over speed near the target head speed you can try messing with the gov gain.

None of these suggestions worked...any other ideas? Does anyone using vbar gov have overspeed at initial spoolup?

Yes...but it settles down quickly and then maintains the HS well after the spool up.

I don't spool up in idle 1. Take it easy on your Heli and spool up in normal then flip in to 1 or 2 when you are at speed.

WHAT heli is this on an electric or nitro? If nitro you should be spooling up actually in normal and can modify the curve to attend to your liking, then once at middle stick or past you can simply flick into idle 1 or 2. If this is electric then your endpoints for motor stop and full need adjusting in gov 2 page if you are using external governor.

...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...
