Does anyone know the most popular size heli based on sales? Not looking for anecdotal thoughts, but rather concrete info.

I know the pro teams prefer 700's for their presence in the air and many start out with micros and 450's.

My assumption would be 450 followed by 600's. but again this is only based on observations at fun flies and people's tags.

My assumption is 500/550, or 600

I'd say 450's or micros. Everyone has atleast one in their fleet.

It would not be typical for a distributor to share what they measure. I assume there's no market research analysis on this "sector." I assume most entrepreneurial investment is backed by research that comes from having worked at a distributor and seen the numbers.

MSHeli went 500 (425mm), 450 (325mm) and now 700. I'd bet that's in decreasing order of units.

Align would know the answer exactly.

oops, bounced it!

I would say data would not even support out type of rc heli, the mall type or china crapolas online would probably surprise you on sales.Anything under $100.00 RTF is probably the top seller.

I stole it ,flew it and gave it back ;)

Jeff, you are right. I am thinking more about true hobby enthusiasts and the helicopters geared for the hobby.

the helicopters geared for the hobby.
Did many of google searches for this topic lately, and the same answer always comes up 450's. I'd like to see a chart or some graph from a site like ready heli or helidirect of units sold.

I think 450s are top of the list, and if you add those helis sold at almost every single mall in the US would make at least top 3.
