Seems to me this thread has drifted off course.

I feel it is the ultimate responsibility of the end-user to double check the integrity of the manufactured parts, regardless of what brand it is.

Thanks.
Well said and I knew this thread would go down hill just like I called it.The OP clearly needs to keep up on his helis and his building skills will progress from past mistakes.Non of us are perfect, just gotta learn from it...
Its a shame that someone keeps posting bashing,rude/name calling comments like always...

A 'fanboy' will only appear as such when trying to praise a product that a few people slate for no reason.

I'm talking about the ones that will flat out call you a liar if you report a problem...It's never happened to them and they've never seen it happen in person so therefor...it never happened and you're lying.

THOSE fanbois.

I literally never use the word literally right.

I must add that one possibility that made me ruin 50 plus main gears from crosscut, straight cut to KDE's, In addition to 30 plus front and rear tt gears was because I deviated from Aligns intended design by using larger more powerful motors in heli, 4530, 4926, 4525. That and flexing box section.
Was great with the Align motor but I had be Tim Allen!

Those were the old Align issues I had, Align has definitely stepped up there game, now Align has new black main gears, new black front and rear TT gears. Align always use good carbon fiber, I just wish they would stop molding plastic into frames such as the 600Pro and 700e V3, and step away from Castle ESC's.
Like I said Align made it affordable for many of us in the hobby. Go Align.
So what makes the gears better now that they are black? I usually have the best luck with things that are pink.

I see you are also an expert on carbon fiber. Can you tell me more about their manufacturing process and how it differs from the competition? I would also like to be provided with some technical data on tested samples. I trust you have all this data in your tech notes?

Well I have better luck with Women who wear pink as well, but if you must ask, this is why;

OK.
it is easy to spot crappy carbon fiber, if you happen to break some carbon frames, fins, or parts you can see that the carbon is not all carbon but a glass resin laminated with a thin layer of carbon fiber, Fusuno is one aftermarket manufacturer that does this. I have broken many Fusuno frames on the 550 Align, they always break easier than Align frames, Fusuno even makes there 550 frames 2.5mm instead of aligns 1.6 -2.0mm carbon frames. laminated glass carbon makes it weaker than pure carbon fiber. Remember we are not talking about automotive or aeronautical quality carbon fiber but just enough to make it respectable(strong enough). I have broken many carbon fiber products. When I first started flying I used to buy those cheap 450 replacement frames by the dozen until I noticed it really never paid off because those cheap carbon laminated frames never held up as well as the real thing.

Ok, they are using what I suspect to be black delrin. Big deal. And unless that test is done side by side with another helicopter, it doesnt mean much.

Frames breaking can come down to luck. I have waded up helis really bad and not had to replace frames. Is all how it goes into the ground.

I take back my attitude in the original statement only because you provide some sort of proof to support your statement.

I'm not sure what material they are using in these new black gears, but I do think that video shows an improvement. At least comparing to their previous gears. I'm pretty sure Aligns previous gears wouldn't have survived that. The wood chopping doesn't really impress me, but dropping the tail in the ground like that sure does.

Off topic but no less important. Your experiences with inferior products should be shared in the "Beginners" corner.

I've had Align products since the original all plastic 450. They have definitely stepped up their game on quality. They do have some solid designs too. If only they could implement better quality control on their Chinese part suppliers. But I guess that would be like trying to heard cats!

Uhh, hey, bro, those crappy frames on like an Alzrc, tarot, or, I don't know CLONES ya,,,, they are crappy because the are comprised of a cf sandwich with a creamy GLASS balloon FILLER. The filler has no strength so you snap the cf and you're sol.

You want a tough clone frame? Double them up, glue them with a layer of fine silk or cotton or KEVLAR and your not going to break it hardly at all. So she's a bit heavier, by how much, ehh, just a dumb suggestion really.

I witnessed someones tail gears, clone, go strip in front of me landing with the tail in grass only. Anything better than that is great.

Ok, first off, I'm not blaming Align for the crash, I flew it knowing full well there was an issue, and I take responsibility for it, hence why I'm not asking them to pay for parts to repair my bird. (not like they would even had it been 100% their fault) I was venting my frustrations, one of them being an out of round main shaft new out of the box. As far as taking the wet sanding paper to it, um, no, that's not something I should have to even consider when it's a part that should just bolt up and work. As for my affinity for finding broken/bad/faulty parts, I do tend to find a lot of lemons, but all in all, I buy a lot of parts and try a lot of different things, it's part of what I like to call my personality defects. I like to tinker, it's part of my learning curve, and once I have it down pat, I get bored and move on to something else, something where I can learn more, something usually more difficult or skilled than the last thing I was into. Yeah, the crash was my fault, but the main shaft being out of round or having too large of an OD is not, and it's also not something a customer opening a new box should have to deal with. Do you go and buy a brand new harley and then first thing have to sand a scratch that the dealer put on it? Hell no, you go right back in to the dealer and say FIX THIS CRAP ITS YOUR FAULT. Thats the problem with overseas companies, they don't do good QC, and they for sure don't have any decent form of customer service.

This is all coming from someone that has no friends, flys alone and has nothing better to do than stirr up drama like always..
Please troll my past post and show where I said the landing gears break during tip overs.I had 2 ESC's go bad in 5 years but I also put hundreds of flights on them so kinda don't expect them to last forever ..Stripped TT gears on my Trex 550 but I also had cheap aftermarket frames that came with it so lesson learned there..
Watch what happens ---> Every time you post in a thread,it gos down hill with your trash talking like always but yet after 4 years you wonder why ya don't get along with others..
I ask a simple question and here you come like always talking about something you never owned and never will own so go play in the mud with someone else.....
Seems to me that you have a problem with hypocrisy. I have plenty of friends, it's just that most of them aren't into the hobby. Stir up drama huh? Sounds to me by your attempts at a degradation or insult that you are trying to stir up drama.

I asked 3dgimble a simple question and a member thats well known for trolling/drama clearly attacks me <---- You wanna use that and say im trying to stir up drama just to try getting the heat off your fail attemps to once again bash Align for something you did.
Not sure why you feel the need to tell me you have friends .
Anyways,
Wish I lived closer to ya because I would love to sit down and go through a build with you, some people just need a little help and theres nothing wrong with that...Once this is past and shes fixed,I hope all gos well for ya...
