I have been using Epoxy for 20 years, I started using it on a Full size 90MPH V Drive Boat, used it on RC Boats, around the house and on my Century 50 heli to glue a Magnet to an Aluminum Clutch Bell,, here are my rules of thumb I learned over the years

A) never, never, never, never use 5 minute Epoxy !!,,,, never ever, just don't !!

B) do not use 15 minute Epoxy on anything that vibrate, I never had any luck with 15 minute "Hobby Epoxy" ether, so I don't use 15 minute Epoxy, it would even hold wood to wood on my RC Gasser Plane

C) half hour Epoxy is only marginally better than 15 minute Epoxy, it too I will not use,, well,, maybe for pretty things for the wife, but never for the RC hobby

D) I only use 1 hour or 2 hour Epoxy, ether one

E) always, always scuff up both surfaces of what you are gluing, inside and out, scuff them up good

F) after scuffing>, clean with Rubbing Alcohol, let dry completely

G) 1 hour and 2 hour Epoxy is rather thin, I always use a thickener, I use Milled Fiberglass, never had a Failure

H) mix very very well, this is a must do, I mix 3X longer than what the instructions call for, I usually mix for 3 to 5 minutes

I) West, Devcon, Super Glue Epoxy, and Locktite are very good brands and I never had a complaint about them

J) for cleaning up un-cured Epoxy around edges or on your hands use Rubbing Alcohol on a rag or paper towels

Good info. We had this discussion 10 years ago but it doesnt matter. This hobby is all about shortcuts now. Why build a heli when you can buy one from china built by a ten year old for 1/3 the cost ready to fly, just add fuel?

I use Devcon Plastic - steel 100% recommended

the best about this epoxy, is you can clean the mess with water and a paper napking

at the end, you have a rock solid glue
