Agreed. I don't think anyone is disagreeing with your statement.
Im with you on that, Marty is just recalling some good points.

Marty,

Please, do not get discourage, I stand by my offer of teaching you all I learned through the years.

Precision is a fun discipline if you are into it.

I can meet you at Joyce park once if that makes it easier for you.

cheers

I agree with you 110% on the 5 day thing. Look at how many pilots they ran through the Heli Masters this past week in just three days!!!

I don't if it has been mentioned before, but why not do a two or three day event (I would be motivated more if it were a two day event)?

Wed-Thurs or Tues-Wed-Thurs of IRCHA week makes sense, doesn't it?

I have watched the Worlds when it was at Muncie back in 2009. I appreciated the technicality of the flights, but not really something I wanted to sit there and watch for X number of days.

If I were to compete in one of the lower classes, I would most likely go do my flight or flights at the Nats location, then scoot on over to the IRCHA flightline and enjoy the rest of the day. That sounds good to me!

Let me start something in the FAI/F3C forum about starting in precision heli flying from scratch. My first question will be about airframe to build a precision heli from. Nitro/electric/flybar/fbl? Please look for it over there.

There is no reason whatsoever to build anything but a flybarless model for competition at this point.

AMA is going to officially recoginize flybarless, it is has been provisional for 4 years. If you start in the AMA classes now, by the time you want to move up to F3C it will be flybarless as well.

Build a FBL machine you like and then just change the electronic setup for when you want to compete.

We are about three weeks away from the last official contest (Nat's) that separates FBL and FB (for F3C).

2014 allows flight control systems (flybarless gyros)in F3C so I'm hopping that AMA will simply allow that too. No more FBL and FB classes (I hope).

Now will we settle on two blades or more?

The problem is nobody is even attempting flybarless but
I hope you are all correct and next year we'll see all new FBL entries in AMA I, II and III

I expect the the F3C guys will switch since you are all sponsored and will be "encouraged" to fly FBL

How many? about 17 entries total but, who cares!

What really matters is that us that made it had a fantastic time, from the F3C guys to all the new Sportman and Advance class pilots. Let not forget the scale guys who are also fantastic.

We ALL learned a lot, and we had so much fun.
This year marked the REAL introduction of Flybarless units in competition, and they were competitive.

CD Craig Bradley busted his chops to put in an unforgeatable experience.

My low was running out of caffeine and attention span on Sunday. My high was every minute there except for my 3rd round on Sunday, Luckily there were plenty of moral support from Peter, Eaton, Timmy, Nob, Dennis, Craig, and the judges to carry me throught...

say "Goosefraba." and "Musaaa"

If we can get it in closer to IRCHA, then I will enter FBL next year!
