I have been flying my 130X for about six months now and all of a sudden the heli has the bad shakes. I replaced all head and tail to metal but it wasnt shaking after I replaced them to metal, only after other 20 or so flights. Anyone else have the shakes? Could it be my gains??

shaking how? From the main rotor? If so I would suspect the main shaft or spindle. Were the 20 flights hard 3d? or just hover and some FF? Was the heli landed hard at any of the 20 flights? Once again it has to be a bent shaft or a bad bearing. Wish I had more to offer. If the shakes are coming from the tail forward I'd change out the tail shaft. Make sure everything is tight on the new head assembly, might have loosened up during the 20 flights. Have a look at the thrust bearings too.

The shakes are not from the tail, it wobbles side to side, it does stop for a sec or two then it starts to wobble again. errrrr!!

could be dirty servos. I have seen the shakes show up and then shortly after a servo dies.

Mine also does it's fair share of shaken, mostly during some sort of descent. Of course it's not shaken now setting on the bench waiting for part to come in after I dumb thumbed it tail first into the dirt.

Now I can justify upgrading.

If the wings are traveling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter.

Just received mine yesterday. On maiden flight it had a resonance/ vibration sound on spool up. On every one of my descents it was vibrating from the head. Found a stripped screw on one of the blade holders, so I put nylon nuts on both of the screws. It still does it. I also checked all screws for tightness and found nothing loose. This is not good being right out of the box. Hope a Horizon Rep. reads this, I could use an answer

Most likely the RX/FBL unit is moving around. Tack it down with a little tape in the back and the wobble should go away.

Thank you TMoore for the suggestion. I checked and did notice that the RX/FBL unit can move up and down a little. I used a thin zip tie through the small holes in the frame and no more movement. Preliminary 3ft flight in the house showed promise. I will post the outcome after a real flight in the morning.

I have experienced two types of shakes on the 130x. One is a vibration of the tail caused by unbalanced tail blades. To fix, add tape to the lighter blade until they're balanced. The other is a twitch that comes and goes. It looked like the heli had a few too much drugs. The cause was a dirty tail servo not making consistent contact with the resistor on the circuit board. To fix, remove the servo mechanics and clean both sides of the contact surfaces.

From this thread so far it sound like yours has the servo twitch, not the tail vibration.

I recently had a case of the shakes myself. I upgraded to the MicroHeli tail case and within a week both bearings were toast. I had to put the Blade bearings back in and all is well...

Thank you all. I just got off the phone with Horizon. The problem is in the gain which can be adjusted with the TX. In my case with side shake the aileron gain is too high. Elevator and rudder can also be adjusted. I decreased it by three increments from where it was. We still have a little shake but big improvement. It will probably take a little time to smooth out...I will keep working on it. Horizon is also sending a set of main blade holders. I hope this may help others with the same problem

Thanks vortechZ230, I found out about the grommet mod from my LHS yesterday and that also made an improvement. It seems strange that this heli takes so much tweaking out of the box. Still have a tail twitch but I think a tail upgrade is necessary to fix that as I haven't been able to loose it with gain adjustments yet. I do want to say it is an awesome little heli in spite of my frustrations, and perhaps my expectations of getting the same exact perfect flying bird in the videos may have been a little too high. I know the answer to any of our problems will be posted on RR as there is a world of knowledge here and that's why I go here.....Thanks again

It's a great little heli I can take anywhere. This is how I am able to get stick time right now and I practice twice daily on work days. Now that the side shakes were taken care of by use of the rubber grommets, I will upgrade the tail with aluminum to tighten the goodly amount of slop in those plastic parts back there.
