Hi thanks for taking the time to help.,This is all new to me trying to set up my DX7s. When I throttle up hard the nose turns slight left, and when I come down from a fast decent and stop fast its turns left. It just doesn't hold when flying in a figure 8 pattern. Rotates slightly left in hover.
Now is this a setting on my gyro or do I go into tje radio... Please ask all the question you need I don't know were to start. Thanks guys

Love to fly

First what equipment are you working with, I.E. receiver, gyro and servos?

It sounds like the gain isn't high enough. When you plug the battery in, are the tail blades straight and your servo arm 90º?

Make sure the gyro is indeed in heading hold.

Make sure you do not accidently have the PIT>RUD mixing turned on in the radio which is applicable only to rate gyro use.

Tail pitch should be set you produce hands off hover in RATE mode with the tail servo arm at 90degrees. When you have that set by adjusting the tail rotor pushrod length, switch the gyro into heading hold. Start with about 50% gyro gain.

I have a TON of experience with the 2100 or hitec 5000(same gyro).as DR Ben said, with this gyro, a rate mode set up is MANDATORY.Its a great little gyro it just needs a few extra min of attention.

also once you have done the basic set up,you can check that the gain showing on the gyro matches what the tx is showing,if not I will explain how to calibrate that.

Has this gyro been crashed or bumped around a lot?if so there is a sensor re-calibration you can do thats not shown in the manual.Sometimes this is required to get it holding rock solid

ok I actually got a few PM's about the sensor re-calibration so I will post it here for all to see.I have not done it for a while but you will get the general idea its easy.

While you CAN do this by yourself,a third hand makes it MUCH easier.

The hard part is getting it started..LOL..you need to hold the tiny little menu button down while powering up the gyro/elec.ALL of the LED's will flash on,they may blink once or twice but you will see all come on,not the normal boot up.After you see this sequence release the menu button, the LED's will start to flash in sequence from left to right, slowly at first and then gradually faster.after about 5 min it will stop and you are done.YOU MUST KEEP THE HELI/GYRO STILL WHILE IT IS CALIBRATING..thats it.Sometimes it takes a few tries to get it to self calibrate, especially if you are trying to connect deans with one hand while holding the menu lol,but try it you should see better performance in older or bumped/crashed gyros
